Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) is a math savant with more affinity for numbers than people. Behind the cover of a small-town CPA office, he works as a freelance accountant for some of the world’s most dangerous criminal organizations. With the Treasury Department’s Crime Enforcement Division, run by Ray King (J.K. Simmons), starting to close in, Christian takes on a legitimate client: a state-of-the-art robotics company where an accounting clerk (Anna Kendrick) has discovered a discrepancy involving millions of dollars. But as Christian uncooks the books and gets closer to the truth, it is the body count that starts to rise.

The ending with the Pollock painting. He didn't care about the painting. He knew she would appreciate it and he wouldn't, because she was an artist, so he gave it to her, knowing she wouldn't sell it.

The actual guy this is based off of, Mike Vining, is a legend. He was an EOD in Vietnam before being selected as one of the very first Delta Force members. He's inspired multiple movie characters, including this one, Sicario, and Predator. Those are all based off of the same guy. What makes his career even more impressive is the fact Mike Vining is on the autism spectrum. And this was before everyone knew what Asperger's Syndrome was, so he was in an environment that was in no way accommodating or understanding. And he still managed to have the career he did in spite of that.

Such a GREAT movie. I always wanted them to get together at the end, but if I am honest - the ending does actually makes the most sense - especially considering his autism and job.

The old guy in the end was the one that called his 2 business partners and also the guy shorting stocks wasn't affiliated with Living Robotics that was just a scene to introduce his brother

One of my favorite movies. Glad you enjoyed it. The Renoir painting would be worth around 70 million dollars. Jackson Pollock paintings have sold for over 100 million dollars.

That is INSANE. I’ve never understood how someone could spend a lot of money on ANYTHING, let alone something that could easily be destroyed by accident. I’m unbelievably frugal though, so maybe that’s why I’ve never understood it. 😂

My Little Man (grandson, who lives with me) is currently in the process of being diagnosed with Autism. I had already known he was autistic. He will be 2 in late September, but he has always sorted everything, speech delay, doesn't look at us, and he has never talked to us. He does talk, but not to communicate with anyone. He knows his ABC's (not just the song, he points to letters and says them) and he can actively count to 20 ( he lines up snacks and counts them as he goes). Just this past week (July 4th to be exact) he looked me in the face for the first time. I was elated! He has done it a couple of times since then. He doesn't have an aversion to touch, so now all we have to do is get him to respond to his name and get him to make the connection that words are a form of communication, and we should be golden.

Anna Kendrick here is from the Twilight films and Pitch Perfect. She’s also really good in “Up in the Air”, with George Clooney.

Anna Kendrick also starred in a similar movie called Mr. Right with Sam Rockwell. A better movie than this one, which is saying a lot because this movie is very good.

Love John Lithgow. He had a popular show called “3rd Rock from the Sun” that I know you’d absolutely love. Probably wouldn’t do well as a reaction series on KZfaq but it’s a Sci-fi comedy sitcom about aliens visiting Earth and he’s the captain of the mission.

As someone with autism this is the most accurate rep of Autism in movie whereas Community is the best in tv show. Although there isn't high or low functioning autism cause the autistic spectrum isn't linear like the ph scale is.

As someone with Asperger’s syndrome, I really appreciate this film. Living with autism is difficult. Especially in the social realm. I thought they portrayed autism well, and I love that they showed us a hero on the spectrum.

lol, John Lithgow is a prolific actor and you know him as Barney’s Dad. 😂😂😂 You should check out the 90s sitcom “third rock from the sun”, or the Robin Williams film “world according to Garp”. Both with John lithgow.

An original Pollock painting sold at auction for $61 million. As for this Pollock in this movie, I don't know, but its probably worth millions considering the accountant's taste.

In August 1973 the Australian Government, through the National Gallery of Australia's acting director, James Mollison, bought Blue Poles by Jackson Pollock. The painting cost $1.3 million - the most ever paid for an American painting in the world at that time. Peace out.

John Lithgow is a great actor who has dozens of credits to his long, varied, esteemed career. Everything from a creepy serial killer in Dexter to the voice of Lord Farquad in Shrek. I guess some people know him from that cheesy TV show, but I never watched it.

You might enjoy Anna Kendrick in A Simple Favour or Mr Right, and Ben Affleck in Argo or Air. This is not like the Bourne series though. And please include The Bourne Legacy in your Bourne reactions. So many don’t. If you haven’t seen RED and RED2, you might enjoy those too.

You’re going to love The Bourne Identity. The sequels are good also except that they extensively use what everyone calls shaky cam. Which I find very distracting with all the quick cuts and edits. The second one is most guilty. And yes you need to complete the Rocky series. People will say don’t bother with Rocky 5, but don’t listen to them and just go through all of them and then Creed. You would probably like another Ben Affleck movie called Reindeer Games.

We as a society need to have a conversation about the acceptance of the genocide of neurologically different people. Look to how Iceland “cured” Down’s syndrome in their country. If you don’t believe that this is happening.

Downs Syndrome is one of many different genetic abnormalities that can be detected. Some of these genetic problems are genuinely horrific, with very high rates of mortality and some of which result in suffering of the child before death. The genetic testing here is providing information to the individual families, and letting them wrestle with the decision of what to do. Genocide is the act of the State against a group of individuals, and that is not happening here.
