For a moment I thought you were James Murray!

I just got this one to replace my aging Stratos 2. I only wear a watch to keep track of my pool swimming. It looks nice and I really wanted to like it....turns out that for my use case, it's absolute crap. Took it for my pool workout twice already, together with my Stratos 2. My regular workout over the last 3 years has been 100 laps on a 25m lane pool, about every other day. My Stratos shorted me 1 lap, 4-5 times during the entire period, so extremely accurate and reliable. My new GTR 2e recorded 61 laps on the first swim, 76 laps on the second swim, well of the actual 100 laps. So all the data that it produces after, calories burned, SWOLF...forget about it...Totally unacceptable! In addition, when it comes to target setting, you have the option for time, calories and distance. Fine, but when it comes to distance, units are "km"!!! Biking ok, but swimming? Who sets swim targets in km? My 100 laps translate into 2500m, but for target setting I can either choose 2km or 3, nothing in between. The Stratos has this feature, it's nice to have a notification with vibration that lets you know that your are done. Tried to send it back after 3 days for return/refund but got denied. Still working on that.

Totally hooked on my Amazfit GTR 2e! This watch is a beast - the battery lasts for ages (seriously, weeks!), and it tracks everything from my sleep to my swims with ease. Plus, the classic design is comfy and looks great whether I'm hitting the gym or going out for a night. The only challenge? The glossy screen can get pretty scratched up easily. Thinking about a GadgetShieldz screen protector to solve that. Heard they have some super-tough protectors with a crystal-clear finish, so I can keep my watch looking pristine without sacrificing clarity.

I "upgraded" to the Amazfit GTR 2e from the Amazfit Stratos 3 because I heard that the GTR 2e had better battery life. I knew I was going to be sacrificing internal storage to store music, but what I wasn't expecting was I would lose the ability to sync a Bluetooth heart rate monitor. I believe this ability can be added in a firmware update because I believe Amazfit added the feature to the Amazfit Pace with a firmware update. Otherwise this is a decent activity tracking watch for its price.

This is a great watch except the GPS, mine is totaly crazy...

I've had the GTR2e for 14 months, loved it, although some of its measuring was poor, especially the Open water swim, calls Front Crawl 'Butterfly' stroke ( and no its not my swimming technique ) and Over measures the Open water distance by Double ?

Literally if you could respond to notifications from this watch via voice, this would FINALLY be a watch that could replace the Pebble Time Steel as a sucsessor! Fitness tracking, Week battery life, music control and notification reply. It is damn close to a buy for me but just missing that one last feature. Still going to hold off for the next generation but lets see if they can keep that battery (otherwise they will lose a customer)

I have been using the original GTR for over a year, I am still happy with it. Feature-wise this new e model is close to the original GTR but I like the better notifications (yes it is better!), watch faces and other tweaks. I don't think I will upgrade though, my GTR is shiny steel. Recently I saw a new Amazfit called Neo, will you review that one? It is a retro LCD model, good for nostalgia :-)

the lorry that I'm driving has a bt hands free speaker for my phone but no controls on it. so, in order to answer a call, I have to fiddle the phone out of my pocket while driving. I wouldn't mind having no speaker in the watch if at least I could just tap a button on it to answer the call.

Why do you said that the notifications are better on the huawei gt2? I was aware that it was the opposite. (On gtr2 and gtr2e we have some smiles)

I don't think amazfit gtr2 "sports" that you have has a stainless steel frame. Kindly check and confirm
