Amazing No Soilmix, you can rooting without getting your hands dirty, I have uploaded many new grafting videos here : / @graftingexamples
❀ NOTICE ❀
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME FOR GRAFTING
I think it's local not global, because different in every place, for example: in my place, I can do it any time. Just so you know, in most videos, I make it "this month" and upload it "the following month" because grafting is usually take 1 month. I almost upload videos every day, that means I can graft anytime, there is no best time.
The best time is when you try it no matter it succeeds or fails.
if you seriously want to know that is how to start doing it now. do it the right way, do it continuously later you will know by yourself.

I’ve noticed that the 2nd branch is not the same as the original branch that he’d started out with. Both scenes at 7:49 and at 8:20 are clearly showing that these branches are completely different from one another. The original branch has a smaller wooden stem on the left side, with a straight and a much larger trunk; whereas with the end result ones, both stems are equal in size and it’s shaped as a letter V.

And for places that get 4 seasons, with snow or cold winter, don’t try in winter. Plants are dormant. So, as early as things start to bud, and before leaves start to drop for autumn. Preferably start at least a month before you expect leaves to drop to the ground. That’s when they start going dormant, and aren’t giving energy to growth. It’s June now, I could have tried in March if I’d known, for example, but I still have plenty of time. Once they have roots, you can try planting in the ground (loosen soil so roots don’t have to work so hard to grow), or pot them until they get even more roots, then plant. Up to you to decide. If the part you cut off has a lot of leaves, you may want to trim some off so the plant isn’t spending all its energy trying to keep leaves going and not have any energy for the roots.
