Never have I been more inclined to comment on a video than after watching the homemade Santa Claus candies. I watched the entire time completely convinced that the candy maker was just putting together completely irrelevant blogs of taffy together. I was ready to be so disappointed until I saw the little Santa design upon cutting it. Blew my mind. One of the most satisfying conclusions I’ve ever seen from a random video

hezky se na to dívá...dala bych si to jablko a vánoční stromek s matcha krémem..a ten řez z křehkého těsta - pečený korpus jako miska a plněný jahodami 🤩🤩, ale moc cukru...stačila by třetina...ta výroba bonbonů se Santou, obdoba výroby Muránských korálů, to vypadalo moc hezky...zklamala mne ta piškotová kostka se šlehačkou a pokrájeným ovocem..ti kráječi si s tím nedali žádnou práci, naskládali to tam jak 6 leté děti..je to neprofesionální, doma by si to lidi upekli a ozdobili lépe...

I love the creativity and appearance of desserts in Korea. However, they use way too much flavorless whipped cream. Add some flavors! There are so many you can add to whipped cream to make it more interesting and delicious. Or go with buttercream!

Simple syrup. For anyone who doesn’t know, simple syrup is just made by dissolving sugar in water. It’s often brushed onto the layers of sponge cakes to add moisture, because sponge cake is fairly dry. Sometimes other flavoring agents are in there as well, like rum or coffee or orange blossom water.

I found myself calculating the cost of these. Here in California, in a gourmet grocery store, those would sell for around $12 each. If she made 20 at a time, that's $240. If it took roughly 4 hours to complete them, paying the pastry chef $30/hr, that leaves $120. If the cost of ingredients was $30 - given that they are all purchased in bulk, we are at $90. Subtract the overhead costs of the establishment at $5/hr and it leaves a profit of $70 for half a day's work. That's hoping they are all sold and also not including the time it takes to sell them. I don't know if that's accurate but how does anyone make money having a bakery?

Well rather than grocery store, they would be going to a cafe or cake shop so youd increase the each price 2-4 times depending on if its a well known reseller or specialty store, so itd look more like $30-45 per cake **Assuming the cake in question was the larger ones not those single serve minis

Where I live, those cakes would go for $25-$30. I just looked online at the local shops price list for layered cream cakes with fruit/chocolate, and they are selling for $29.81. I have no idea why they don’t just price them at $29.99. 😂

There are a lot of Christians in Korea; but most of them are of various Protestant denominations as opposed to Catholics. There are Catholics as well, just not as many. Also, I understand from friends that many non-religious Koreans now celebrate Christmas as a secular holiday.
