Check out how we do a self leveling concrete overlay over this old, rough, pitted concrete floor.
This is how we make an old concrete floor look like new again.
Use this self leveling overlay as the finished floor or as an underlayment for another type of flooring.

I saw a guy that hard a 55 gallon drum mounted to a roll around. The drum had a 2" valve on the bottom. He would mix his self leveler in the drum, open the valve, and wheel the drum around. I thought that was a good idea!

Mike, is it possible to use self leveling mix to repair an area that has a 6” swell? I recently mud jacked my shop but ended up with a pretty big dip in the floor. The area for leveling is approximately 20’x30’. This all tappers down to the 6” in the center. Or would you suggest some other method. Thanks, Gary

likely ArdeK, but he can say....there are a number of great products. What is sad is that many guys take advantage of the homeowner and charge a crap load of money for doing this. While the product is more pricey than concrete, instead of costing 5$ a sqft, they charge 12, 15, to 20 per sq ft!!! For the 20, you do get a polish 2 coat process, but not needed in most cases, or the finish look you want. Some products are more cementacious, vs others more poly. Can look great, but high quality large format Italian floor tile installed is much cheaper at the crazy prices some want to charge.

Why need the reference screws if this stuff is self leveling?
@ApprenticeGM
@ApprenticeGM Күн бұрын
It's "mostly self levelling" lol :) It's a higher viscosity than water, so there is still lateral resistance. So you could pour a whole room but end up with slight level differences - like a very slight wave effect. Having reference screws allows you to get it more exact and make the wave extremely slight, a good operator can get it to under a mm, which is usually good enough for flooring. There's another product you can use that's similar but much less viscous, and it evaporates / soaks in leaving the solid behind, like mud, which you can do multiple applications of, but it's time consuming.

@MikeDayConcrete
@MikeDayConcrete 2 жыл бұрын
They're all like this. Still good to have a reference to go by. This stuff is expensive so you want to get it right the first time. All materials have some type of surface tension, even water doesn't completely self level.
