There are people who work out in the heat and cold doing hard labor…building our roads and buildings and working on power lines and running pipes underground…..yet these people are complaining they have to push carts around a warehouse and construct cardboard boxes to put products in and put packages on a machine that does the work for them. Wow….to be treated fairly they need to go work outside in the elements digging ditches and working 12 or more hours a day like all the road workers and construction crews have to. But instead they are whining about this.

Then you should have to go work for a road crew or construction crew and have to work out in the elements…the extreme heat and extreme cold…working 12 or more hours a day doing hard physical labor. My husband makes $17 an hour doing that hard labor…sometimes digging ditches with a shovel all day….yet you think working inside an Amazon warehouse is “too demanding”? Wow. You people really have no sense of reality. They are pushing carts around a warehouse and constructing cardboard boxes and putting packages on a machine….they probably only work 8 hour shifts and certainly aren’t doing hard labor. Absolutely ridiculous….people like that deserve to lose their jobs to machines and robots if they are going to whine about having to do some work that’s not even hard labor….they don’t deserve to get paid any amount of money. There are people in other countries who do hard labor for many hours in harsh conditions and get paid $1 and they don’t complain…they are grateful they have a job. There are people in the US who work 2 or 3 jobs just to make ends meet……yet these Amazon workers are going to complain because they have to do work.

They've seen nothing. Compared to a certain Amazon I worked for in central Texas. You go 3 hours straight without a 15-min break. While quotas are more enforced, everyone is put on annoying competitions, and workers don’t even unionize. The list goes on… People were getting more taken advantage of. They don’t even pay you for double time when it’s mandatory. While overtime pay is a little weird the way it works out there. Thank goodness I left and returned to one of the Amazons in the Inland area after spending one hellish year in Texas. I can’t complain much about the one where I’m at now. The pay is way better too. And I give the people huge props out here for knowing how to unionize. Unlike where I was at in Texas. So I’m happily working good knowing it’s much fair.

I don’t get it. If working at Amazon is so terrible, then why is it that Amazon never seems to have a shortage of employees?
@AlexR_44
@AlexR_44 27 күн бұрын
Because they're a very streamlined system, they don't need many workers, and there are tons of people here. They also put warehouses in immigration hot spots, so the stream of workers is virtually endless. When I was in my 20's some friends worked at one near us, the turnover rate is insane. Most people don't make it long enough to get their sign -on bonuses, the rest quit almost immediately after getting one. They also do, or did anyway, forced overtime, which I personally think should be illegal.

59,000 violations of the law from just Oct of last year to March of this year. Why hasnt the any of the news channels been investigating this until they fine was released ? For example the city of LA has around 900 shoplifting incidents per months so between Oct to March that is 5,400 violations of the shoplifting laws yet the news is nearly every other day reporting on shoplifting meanwhile Amazon has violated the law 10X more time in the same time and the local news hasnt made a single peep until the fine is released.
