I believe you're mistaken on the knife, the"rollers" are just thumb studs, many knives have them to assist in you opening one handed via thumb

You're right, I just looked up some knife design videos. I guess I thought the designers of the knife had something more in mind than just opening the blade. Also when I was trying out the Densan on dismantling wire it just naturally happened that the thumb stud placement started to almost guide the wire in a way that made sense, so I assumed it was by design, but just a happy accident in the design.

I came across your channel recently. I have since binged a lot of your back catalog, and these Japanese tool hauls have been delightful. I haven't been back there in a very long time. If you ever head over, there is no shortage of little and big shops that would cater to your inner tool-snob. Industrial centres, like Seki (It's like Japan's Solingen equiv.) make for a great tool tourist destination. Small outfits to massive corporations have public tours of their factories. Cheers!

If you take your Silky saw and hatchet camping you will have stacks of firewood every night. They're the best saws. Check out Silky's Zubat saw; goes through orchard branches like a flame through butter.

You should give the crystal bit driver another try with the ball torsion bits... Yeah it doesn't fit Japanese Type A bits, but at that shank length you wouldn't want it to anyway and it fits insert bits really well. There is also one with the power grip.

Bahco are all like this they have a reversed threads .. its better cause when you are holding it you can untight if u push on the handle and bahco doesnt have that issue

Very cool to see these. As far as the saws I've always used a bow saw for what I imagine the genki tomagari 500 would be used for. I like those b/c they are light and the blades are replaceable, and easy to carry an extra. At some points the bow would get in the way and limit the thickness of a cut. Is that the advantage of this large pull saw, that it can cut thicker trees or limbs? Is there anything else I'm missing?

I think there is an efficiency improvement over a bow saw. I don't own a bow saw to compare, but have certainly used a few of them and it seems to me there is much less effort in the cutting motion with the Temagari, so in my opinion more efficient use of my calories. Others reviewing that saw have said so, I am just confirming that. I'll also add that the tooth design is superior in my opinion, so sharp, aggressive on the pull stroke and cuts so fast. Yes, also no bow to get in the way.

The silky saws are induction sharpened. That stuff is really nice, you can get it all on the US version of Amazon. You can't sharpen Silky folding saws, I wouldn't try it. I guess you can on those huge teeth saws you have but damn that would be a pain in the ass. The little saw blade replacements aren't that expensive.

Japan is an interesting place. Very innovative people. A tool for everything literally! Awesome review! I'm wondering if they don't charge your customs and tax even the stuff arrives to you, whether from Germany or Japan? Because I wanna order some multi tools from Amazon.Com to UK because the same tools are almost half the price in USA than UK. Anyone?

Anyone know if there any good drywall saws that won’t leave the paper all shredded? My current one destroys the paper and just leaves a bigger mess to do with.

Swedish pattern? The recip collection is indeed growing. I have my eye on one more zet-saw blade too! It is a collection, and they are such very good blades.

@@bzeug sorry, it's been my way of differentiating Swedish adjustables (aka shifters) compared with the more common worm gear orientation. I'd like to suggest TOP adjustables to you. They are one of the oldest adjustable wrench manufacturers in Japan, and they still produce them to this day.

Hi. The Bahco wrench all are that way i think. Bahco is a Swedish brand and the adjustable wrench is a Swedish invention, J P Johansson 1891.

Take the screw out of your Bahco wrench and flip it, problem solved
