I'm about to try one myself. I wasn't sure which one to get so I went through the 8kw ones and checked the reviews and settled on the Chubu. It's a really nice kit . 10ltr tank all the tools needed. It includes the optional fuel tube to install on larger tanks. It comes with 2 heat tubes and a T so you can set up 2 heat ports. It also comes with what yours came with.

I installed a Chinese Diesel heater in my 6x12 cargo trailer conversion... I spent all my effort making sure I properly exhausted the unit through my 1 inch insulated wall using a thru-hull stainless outlet as well as using high-temp RTV around my exhaust hose with high quality hose clamps, and thought everything was great.. I now know that I need to also properly setup a thru-hull port for the combustion intake (away from the exhaust). These devices are primitive.. don't trust that the exhaust flow will happen in one direction with 100% certainty... and don't expect your Home Depot CO detector to save you either.. I've smelled the funky smell, and let it go... and it made me pretty sick.. Don't ignore it... do it right. ...also, if you drop the diesel pump frequency, the exhaust-to-intake leak is even worse... Treat the combustion intake just as important as the exhaust itself.

On the setting display; Is the P-2.2 to P 5.2 the amount of variable power/ watts of heat the unit is supposed to be making? If this is the case, shouldn't it go as high as P-8.0 since this is an 8 kilowatt unit? I have yet to see one of these "8 kilowatt" units have a setting that would allow it to go to P-8.0. Please forgive my ignorance. I am just trying to get a handle on these units.I bought an 8 kilowatt unit myself that I should receive in a week or so. I noticed when shopping for them that there was no drastic difference in price between 5kw units and the 8kw units. 5kw will not be enough power to suit my application if 1kw equals 3100 BTUs. Thank you for sharing this video.

@@TonysTractorAdventureThanks for the response! I am in Alabama so it should be fine here too. We may get snow once every other year where I am at. If snow covers the road here it becomes a holiday. If we get freezing rain (the worst thing of all) there will be no power. It is almost a certainty. We have been using a 27000 BTU liquid natural gas heater for over a decade. The price of diesel is about the same as a gallon of propane here. The main difference is that there is no way our propane heater will run as long on just one gallon of propane. The diesel seems to be more efficient. I believe it would cut our heating costs in half.

@@paulking7019 The 'p' is the hertz of the fuelpump. P 2.0 means the fuelpump will pump 2 times per second. In this way it is also very easy to calculate your cost. One 'click' of the pump sends 0.022ml to the heater. So, with setting P 2.0, it means that every second the pump sends 2 x 0.022 ml (= 0.044 ml) to the heater. Multiply this by 60: it sends 2.64 ml to the heater every minute. Multiply this by 60 and it sends 158 ml to the heater every hour. So, that means on P 2.0, your heater will run a little under 7 hours on 1 liter of diesel. Also, many people say that an 8 Kw heater does not exist. It is just a 5 Kw heater that (if you're lucky) has its software changed to produce more heat.

@@tomasviane3844 Thank you for the reply. I use the "P" setting to run mine all the time now. I got mine and as I expected it does not produce 8KW (as advertised) of heat into the space you are heating. I tried using the thermostat control and it works well when it is warm enough outside, but when the temps start falling below freezing the unit has to run on P 5.4 the whole time, because it doesn't produce enough heat for the space I have. (I am heating around 1000 sq feet.). It slowly loses ground to the cold through the night. I suppose It will make a great emergency/back up heater, it's just not a good full time heat source for me. I will stick to my propane heater for my primary heat. I will probably use this diesel heater to cut down on propane use since "off road" diesel (untaxed and dyed red, is $3.06 a gallon) is cheaper than propane (around $3.78) in my area per gallon for now. The two running together work great and my propane heater barely comes on when both are running together. 12 F is the coldest so far this winter.

Not to be a "Safety Sally" or anything, but I think I would purchase a cheap battery operated CO2 detector to put in the area. Other then that, it appears to be a really good alternate heat source. Cabin is looking good. God Bless to you two, and hope y'all have a Merry Christmas.

I don't take that as being a safety. Sally. That seems to be a good, logical thought process. I have CO2 detectors in my home because I have a gas hot water heater, cook stove and fireplace. Once we get the windows in the cabin I think I will put a CO2 detector. They are cheap enough

A few small things most folks discover as they use these types of heaters for any amount of time. The fuel hose it comes with is really not up to the task. Replace it with a better quality hose and install an in-line filter, while you're at it. The heater pulls 150-180 watts while it's warming the glow-plug. That is more than you consistently want to pull through the automotive accessory plug; it will fail, at some point. Use a connection type that is more suitable for that amount of current, over time. The last thing is you should definitely let it burn "hot" (on high) for the last 5-10 minutes of every cycle, to keep carbon build-up to a minumum. This is kind of annoying because you kind of have to plan on that fact, when using it, including the end result of a room that is too warm. We have ours outside, in a water resistant setup, with the heater hose insulated and coming into the building through a dryer vent fitting. This way it doesn't take up any room inside and essentially eliminates any concerns about CO2.

Look at that fuel line and the way it's installed. It's doesn't even use a hose clamp and it's right next to the exhaust/ Looks like a fire waiting to happen. For one, that clear green fuel line is garbage and should be replaced with something of better quality. It's been known to swell and leak fuel. The air intake for the combustion chamber should be fresh air from outside (cold air is denser and ignites better) and filtered to keep any fine particles out of the burn chamber and glowplug screen air intake hole (very important) That's NOT an air filter on the end of the intake air hose, it's only a muffler (doesn't even work) and should be replaced with a proper air filter.
