Dang you beat me to the punch! we absolutely love our heater! Ours will only pull 2-3 on low, keeps us very warm, and only burn half a tank or less of fuel! Agreed, total game changer! a little tip from us, we don't have a trailer. We bought a heavy duty tire step to set the heater on, instead of the ground or truck bed, works like a dream!

great idea, I burnt an old roll out table with my old one last year, and plan on using that table just for the heater. but the wheel table sounds interesting. I may have to look into it

A few things... Awesome information! (1) When it's up to temp, it is only running the fan AND the fuel pump. (2) for shut down, another critical reason for the process is if you kill the power, you could overheat the circuit board, not just the soot build up. (3) the exhaust should be sloped down it's entire length in case condensation occurs during cooling periods

it is an excellent object, a couple of friends and I own it and have made some modifications, but the 3 main ones are: adding spacers to the feet to make the muffler pipe make a better curve and cutting the display cable to make an extension and make it "remote", change remote plug/cable with anderson and make an adapter for cigarete lighter....PS: another unnecessary job (but done for greater satisfaction) was to change the cheap pump with a slightly better one because the original makes a light and continuous TIC TIC while the new one doesn't, so the new one makes it silent during the night
@OzarkOverlandAdventures

You got a link to that pump? The tic doesn't bother me but I know it bothers others.

I bought one of those Vevor all in one heater about 2 years ago.. After getting sick of packing a heavy AGM battery around. I ended up modifying it. I pulled out the 5 liter fuel tank and replaced it with a 36ah LFP battery. What a difference 😁. I love it so much. I wanted to build a weatherproof version. Apache 4800 is perfect for it. I didn't copy how others were building on KZfaq. I copied the way Vevor was built. I had more room than the Vevor all in one case. I was able to add the voltage monitor, solar controller, AC to DC charger, 12v socket, and charger port. I did have to move the fuel pump and the filter outside in a separate weatherproof small box. I added a 5 liter fuel tank on the side next to the fuel pump box. It works great. It can handle a downpour of rain and stays dry.

I love the video thank you for posting all the information and sharing everything but you had me shaking my head when you were talking about the hose for venting the hot air into your rig. That thing is not that short when pulled out and expanded. If you screw the very end of it down onto the machine, you could pull that piece probably out to about 10’ long maybe 15’ but it is an expandable spiral metal spine vent tube. Just like the one for your drier, just insulated a little better. Hey, I could be wrong and you may very well be right and I wouldn’t even argue for a second but I’m willing to bet that if you held onto one end of that and somebody else held onto the other, and they started walking away from you, it would expand and give you more reach. Once again, thank you for the awesome review. More people putting out stuff like this is awesome information so you’re very appreciated for taking the time to make a video about your camping and Overlanding heating options. Also a suggestion for the pipe is to get some exhaust heat tape and wrap that exhaust tube like the handle of a baseball bat. I was typing this when you asked your Siri about the temperature conversion and my HomePod heard you, thought it was me and answered the question at the exact time when your screen showed the conversion, soooooo yea that made me laugh for a moment for sure.

My son bought the one you had previously just last week. And we had to build some legs to put under it but he said it worked Awesome! I’m thinking now he wishes he would’ve bought this one for the Bluetooth. Just had a curiosity, my son has the same power source and he runs his refrigerator off the cigarette lighter plug port. What do you run your refrigerator off of if you’re using this port for the heater?

Thanks!! I always keep mine semi protected from rain by putting it under my awning or tailgate. It doesn’t stay totally dry but it doesn’t get drenched either.

Hey I just started converting my van. I was wondering if you went with the 5kw or 8kw and what one you would prefer. Also did you get the one in the box like this one? And if so how does it work being outside on the tire? I'm thinking of getting the small one and also mounting it but idk what would be better. Thank you!

I seen one woman that used a large plastic tote cut a u shape and line it with aluminum foil (that’s what it looked like she used at least) then turned it upside down and covered the unit with that! It worked great, in high winds she just put a rock on top! Hope this helps!

I was considering using this for my camper and setting it outside. Will it operate in high winds and will snow and rain hurt it?

Does the controller have a barometer to adjust the fuel air mixture? I can't find that detail anywhere

Is there a thermostat control on there? I’d be awesome to set it up at a certain temp and just lit it go on and off …

do you have a link to the plug you purchased?

Got this unit and plug into Ecoflow pro 12 volt. It shuts down during heat up. Turns out the heater draws 10 amps like you said and battery can’t deliver that and shuts off 12 volt port. Have you found a workaround thanks

What I thought was exciting was automatic altitude adjustment. Bluetooth not so much but it’s a plus. Also, why not extend the controller wiring and run it into the tent? Then you can set a temp and have it adjust automatically.

The auto temp adjustment doesn’t work so well. Plus that’s a really long extension to get the controller to my tent.

@@OzarkOverlandAdventures Good point about the length, could you describe how the auto temp adjust isn’t great?

@@hyppievanman It in a tent with basically no insulation. I find it best to just run it at a low setting to give you a comfortable temp in the tent

I like the bluetooth feature. Really makes the heater much more flexible. I have a Jackery 1500 and a Bluetti AC180P and neither one of them will run my Vevor diesel heater. I have the square model but that should not make a difference. It will only run off my big Bluetti AC200MAX. Interesting thing is all three of my power stations 12v cig lighter outputs are all rated at 10a.

The start up current is roughly 12A at 12V - say 160W. This can be a problem for some batteries and definitely a cigarrette lighter socket. You may have to use a step up and step down to manage the surge current. Step up to 120V and then step down to 12V via a 120V to 12V 20A converter. The 160W is managed without excessive current. Yes, this is annoying. Even more so when attempting to power with a generator.

How loud is the fuel pump ticking sound? Has it improved with this Bluetooth version and is it as quiet as Wippro?

Just ordered. Hope it’s as good as what’s being pitched. I was going to just go with an electric blanket but this is almost the same price. Figure might as well try it out I guess. Now I need a battery pack. What’s the min wattage you’d need to run this?

I think a 500wh power station is a great all purpose size.
