I'd like to see more Multiplayer Rimworld. Maybe even have different people have their own colony, and then race to something like the spaceship which often spawns on the opposite side of the map. Everyone starts with one colonist, some food for the journey, and they have to leave the colony, and noone is allowed to do anything until everyone arrived on the tile they chose. Or they could simply forbid the food in a corner of the map, so it expires, after they chose the place where they want to be on the map.

Both types of mechanites convey their own sets of benefits, but in exchange they cause pain; if your situation is sufficiently good (or you have a good stockpile of drugs) then they can actually be desirable

You can have more colonies, but it's hard on your pc. and btw if you try to use thermal vents as heaters, you're just gonna burn your base down

My #1 tip for this map would be to put walls and doors in all the natural cave systems for when infestations come you can immediately burn them out

Microelectronics is one of the worst things to rush in this game. You can't do anything with it until you get through a ton of other research. Typically I rush devilstrand to start because it will take forever to grow a crop while I go for sterile materials next. Cuts down on food poisoning and infections enough to make it worthwhile.
