Yeah that Myskina backhand was her biggest weapon along with her movement. She wasn't around for very long but in the time she was around she was involved in a whole host of epic battles. You could see with Amélie's reaction she was relieved to get through and it really set her up for those last two tough matches against Sharapova and Henin. Such a golden era for women's tennis, no place to hide from the 4th round onwards in most Slams.

@@casperhuynh2062 I’d say less clijsters (though they have a similar enough stroke production) and more Jankovic. Myskina is the fundamentally more sound player to jankovic and had slightly prettier technique and variety, but their strengths, speed and shot selection is very similar. Myskina being the slightly better player but Jankovic being the slightly better athlete.

You certainly have a type! Jankovic played with more topspin but they are very similar.
