On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

I’ve been trying to work on my f16 dogfighting for a while, but really struggle with throttle control/energy management. I think it would be really cool to see a throttle and maybe stick overlay so we can see exactly how you manage a fight so well. Love the videos!

Is a squad dog fight ever a thing that might happen? The 1-on-1 dogfights explain and demonstrate the capabilities and limits of the planes but how much does that carry over - also would be fun to demonstrate and see some tactics like the Thatch maneuver. Thanks for the videos!

This one was Soo good that I had to comment twice. This time it's about Shotgun, your opponent. That is one badass Flanker pilot, and I think you should keep having him back, especially in the Flanker Shotgun should be the go-to. Your partnership/rivalry with Longshot is now the stuff of legend, and I hope it continues ______(add request for more Two Morons content here)_ , but I understand that Longshot's channel has grown exponentially, as has yours, so it probably is difficult to match up schedules. I do think that Shotgun is good enough to become a 'regular guest star' because every time he has been on, you've had some _kickass_ dogfights.

Shotgun really puts on a helluva show in the Flanker, and I love how GS was down to party a bit the way the Flanker was meant to before finally needing to rate fight.. that was awesome to see

Man the gun kill slowmos are so satisfying!! (It would be cool if the damage model included at least a generic "shattered canopy" model for these situations, ie when you fill the cockpit with shells.) The third person perspective replays are also really helpful. Great editing! 👍

Got into DCS a month ago because of you and chose the F-16 and it is awesome. I originally chose the F-16 because of the amazing bubble canopy view, but I ended up loving it for it's speed. I've played a lot on your server and feel I am getting decent at BVR, but I know next to nothing about dogfighting. There is so much to learn, I can't wait to start dogfighting myself! Great videos!

You should do some with standard load outs rather than slick. I was a crew chief so the pilots wouldn’t share all the details with us but we had our vipers merge with Russian fighters a couple times over Syria in 2016 and our guys were always outfitted with 2 bags, ecm, sniper, HTS, standard A2A and gbu 54’s/39’s or 38’s/12’s.

@@TexasGreed I would assume they would jettison stores but the only time I’ve ever seen stores punched was from an inflight emergency where he was overweight and separate mechanical failure. Had a dude at Nellis dropping BDU-33’s and when he pickeled off a Smurf turd the left wing tank and pylon went with it 🤣

Well, Flanker is a heavy interceptor, so it's not surprising he'd have a hard time against a smaller, nimbler plane like the Viper.

Nice work! shotgun is a honcho, based off your past encounters - definitely not a pushover. Hopefully you find a mirage jock that can put up a good fight vs improved flight model F16 - that's definitely a matchup i want to watch. That and Aramacchi (with you in the spicy italian mearball) for the Lulz.

Hi man, I have a question. I'm in the army but I don't know anything about air combat. It seems like the fundamental premise is about angles/geometry and getting your front to the enemy before he can to you so that you can engage weapons. So why don't aircraft have some sort of turret launch-rail system such that missiles can be fired in all directions at any time? It would completely solve the turning problem. Is there some aerodynamic or technological reason why that doesn't work? Thanks

I imagine the potential weight of that sort of system would be detrimental to performance, and the aerodynamics too, a pylon swivelling around at the sorts of g force those planes experience might rip something off

Hey GS! Just got the flanker and trying to familiarise with some stuff: Q1: what is the difference between a 1 and 2 circle fight , and what makes an aircraft better or worse at either? Q2: what’s the difference between turn rate and turn radius?

A 1 circle fight is a fight here both planes turn the same way when they meet, so let's say both turn left. This makes the "imaginary circle" they fly around smaller. A 2 circle fight they move away from each other when meeting. Don't know exactly what makes them better. Turn rate means how many degrees a plane can turn in a certain amount of time, having a greater turn rate means you can fly in smaller circles. Radius just means the radius of the circle that the plane flies in.
