Vilnius Lithuania and Warsaw Poland are cities in Europe that should not be missed. The history, food, art, architecture, and culture pull you in from the cold snowy streets to the cafes and restaurants. The Balkan states hold a special place in history and in this moment hold the line against Russia while others waver and capitulate.

It's so strange, it looks like you only explored a few streets around the main train station area, which is planned for regeneration in a few years, so is currently a bit run down looking. It seems you missed the most beautiful parts of the Vilnius old down like the castle, cathedral, town hall, and gediminas street which are on the other side of the old town.

I was staying right next to the train station so yeah, there’s a fair bit of video from that area. I walked around a lot and got pretty far into the old town. I tend to just wander rather than seek out tourist sites, thus the “fall off the map” channel name. I like walking around without any plan or itinerary and just seeing a place without expectations. I guess you could say I’m an anti-tourist.

You’re welcome. Yeah, I try to give a very realistic view rather than the “everything is beautiful and perfect” sort of travel video. I do wish I’d wandered a little farther into old town though. Some of the comments from people that know the city mentioned that I missed some of the better parts of the city.

24:39 After the Warsaw Uprising in 1944, German forces destroyed 80-90% of Warsaw's buildings, including museums, art galleries, theaters, churches, parks, and historical buildings such as castles and palaces. They deliberately demolished, burned, or stole an immense part of Warsaw's cultural heritage. After the war, extensive work was put into rebuilding the city according to pre-war plans and historical documents.

It seems you didn't venture far from the hotel you stayed in next to the Vilnius train station and only explored the run-down part of the Vilnius Oldtown, missed literally all the most beautiful parts and landmarks. Later in the video you complain about a 15min walk and talk about possibly getting a taxi (lol). I'm not sure what's the point of exploring if you're this bothered by walking and the weather.

There are specific neighborhoods in the big cities that are always dangerous and the Ecuador/Colombia border has been narco territory for many years. Valid concern. From what I’ve seen, it’s the shoddy construction in the 80s, 90, etc… that collapse in an earthquake. The old stone buildings have been through the tests of time.
