The rock concert from Ethiopia part is a reverse of the live aid rock show that was held in 1985 to raise funds for the people of Ethiopia, then the bit about being on the brew it’s a slang word for being on government payment benefits for being unemployed or unable to work, hope this helps, really enjoy your reactions!!

SO the joys of the English Language. If someone says "do you fancy a brew"- they are asking if you want a drink (usually hot, usually tea BUT could be cold and alcoholic). In THIS instance though, the Brew has a further specific meaning in Scotland which is welfare payments. In this case the man from Belfast is referring to welfare payments not having a drink. English- such a good language until we actually use it!

That "dead in a car crash" gag is still hilarious without context because he's just being ruthless to empty seats, but there is in fact some context, which not many are aware of - there was a story in the news that week about a couple who had just married in Glasgow and then died in a horrific road accident as they were driving away from the church, and Frankie jumped on that.

The 'buroo' or 'brew' comes from the old Scottish and Irish way of saying 'bureau' and as others say, it means living on social security.

1. Paisley is a town that has fallen on hard times following the decline of traditional industry then the collapse of the car production that replaced it resulting in long term unemployment & some of the worst social deprivation on the UK and even Europe. 2. On the "buroo" means the guy is unemployed and is receiving state welfare payments to live on

The joke about the people of Ethiopia holding a rock concert for the town of Kirkaldy is a reference to a huge charity concert event called LiveAid that happened in the UK in the 1980s, featuring dozens of the biggest music artists of the day, to raise money for aid for Ethiopia which was experiencing an extreme famine at the time

On the Brew means on welfare.(It actually explained in the subtitles). While the Republic of Ireland is not part of the United Kingdom since 1937, there is a reciprocal agreement between Ireland and the UK that they can live/work/claim benefits/vote/run for office in each others countries (This applies to Isle of Mann and Channel Islands too). Of course the Irish have the benefit of still being in the EU, so unlike the British they can live and work in any EU country as well.

I figured it wouldn't be eligible to be monetized. If copyright doesn't get you then the content is too vulgar or drops the f bomb or c*nt too much. I swear i wish i didn't have to but that's why i ask for donations, other channels get a ton of donations daily so im wondering if im doing something wrong lol. But hey, I enjoyed the video and will do part 2 even if it isn't monetized and I don't receive any donations. You guys are so supportive that I don't mind not getting paid for it. The rock concert part: Ethiopia had a famine around the time this tour happened. In the UK, it was common for charities to hold rock concerts to raise funds. The idea is that Kercodie such a shit place that even famine-striken country will donate to it.

Think of Kirkcaldy as The Bronx, sorry that's the only poor place I can think of in the US. Don't use captions unless it's like this one, edited by a human. Google/KZfaq has a lot of trouble understanding accents

I told you he was savage! 😂Yes... on the brew is drinking. Belfast is in Northern Ireland which has had lots of trouble between the Catholic and Protestant communities... riots, bombings and murders. Long story. There's a big Irish expat community in Glasgow so the religious sectarianism has spread there too, but not on the same scale. The 2 major football (soccer) teams in Glasgow are Celtic and Rangers. If you're Catholic you support Celtic, if you're Protestant you support Rangers. It used to be the same for the players as well. When they play each other it used to be like a mini-war, but it's not quite as bad these days.
