There are quite a few german and austrian comedians unknown in their home country but quite big in other countries. The confusion about langauge is a big thing, most of the time, because German is all about logic and other languages, not so much. PS. I have no idea if ISMO is big in his home country, but that is annother example of a very funny man, just making fun of how silly English is.

Look him up on Wikipedia: Flula Borg, the English entry is so much longer than the German. It isn't even mentioned there that this is his real name. When you tell his name to a German, everyone would say that thi sis a made up name. Nobody has such a name and would assume a stage name. You will hardly find people in Germany who will know him and likely more people in the US who know him because he was on Conan O'Briens late night show. He is insignificant for the German Comedy Scene.

Flula is German comedian present on many US talk shows. He lives over there. Not many people over here know him. And he mocks about his overexscattered German accent. He is fluent and smart. When I was living in the US, I have to admit I used my accent. I was working at a planetarium. Asked them, hey you are having more questions about the EXPOSITION? They talked to my great American coworkers. No, thank you, the German rocket scientist already answered all our questions. I am not. I was cracking up. Just because of the accent. My American coworkers high fived me. Less work for them 😂

Like others have mentioned before, you should definitely watch anything with Flula Borg and Conan O’Brien in it. They play off of each other so well, although Conan admits that Flula is sometimes too meta and quick even for him.

I think the best-known or at least one of the best-known videos on KZfaq Germany is, "yes, it's time for such a video again" by Papa Schlumpf, where he finished the CDU, even boomers have noticed that, just to prove how well known it is, but it's almost an hour long and would overwhelm poor Ryan 😂😂😂

Echoing the sentiments of other commenters here: Flula (probably a made up name for the character, but not sure... anyone can lie about their identity) isn't widely recognized in Germany and is mostly known to Germans by his appearances on Conan through KZfaq. Interestingly, he adopts a very exaggerated German accent when speaking English. Surprisingly, he seems more proficient in English than in German. If you watch interviews with him in German, you'll notice a noticeable difference in vocabulary, and he also retains an ever so slight american accent. Based on that, my guess is that he has German parents and was born and raised in the US.

Although his overly accentuated German accent is fake and meant as being funny, it is so cringy to me as a German. That is exactly the way we feel we would sound like being around native speakers and that is the one reason why Germans always claim not being able to speak English or just "a little bit". We hate our own accent and the stronger it is, the more silent we get. My ears are bleeding from the emotional damage of hearing this video.

So sad that Americans who basically invented the train and made it a global success would say its a transportation for the homeless now.. Trains are probably the most efficient way to transport people we ever invented. I love trains. You can just chill, enjoy your ride and do whatever you want while traveling.
