I think Brits who talk at the urinals are subconsciously trying to make it less awkward. Like if it's too quiet then all you can hear is your piss hitting porcelain. However, you still keep your eyes forwards and only talk to your friend if you happen to have gone in at the same time.

Re: the toilet conversation. In Amsterdam, they put portable toilets (for pissing only) in the streets at weekends. There are no walls on them, just a standalone thing with holes to piss into. Guys just stand there pissing in the middle of the street while people walk past. It's surprisingly liberating.
@neilsun25214 ай бұрын
They sometimes have them in central London late at weekends. They have a cross section in the middle so 4 guys can pee in it at once. (Saves the streets from stinking like a sewer I guess.)

It's worth pointing out here that the age of consent in the UK is 16. So when he says 'she's a teenager'? That still gives us a certain amount of wriggle room . . . We can imagine she is somewhere between 16 and 19. Awkward, still (as this series likes to be) . . . But not illegal under UK law.
@jamespicksley57815 ай бұрын
she's at sixth form, so between 16 and 18. 19 would be possible if she had to retake a year, but we have no reason to think that.

Toilets in a comedy club are usually chatty I've noticed (not that I'm a connoisseur of public toilets).

It's not just in Britain we talk in public bathrooms -- in Brazilian clubs the toilets are often more packed than the actual dancefloor; cos everyone's doing their nose-candy, and bonding, conversing; etc.

@@girlsdrinkfeck What a weird thing to get shitty about:) So you are disputing my claim that we don't tend to talk to each other in urinals? I presume you formed this opinion because you are quite chatty when you piss? Well then you're the kind of guy other guys cringe at. Either that or you spend a lot of time in gay hook-up bars where commenting on each other's junk is more accepted. In which case, well done you for living your true life:)

I know you're on Season 8 or something right now, but still… Toni agreed to go on this "date" ONLY because she was mad at her boyfriend and was trying to make him upset/jealous. The olive oil talk didn't work, nothing Jeremy did worked (she wasn't even listening), she was just looking for a guy to use. That's hinted at right from the start where she says "This is so it! I'm having a just great time!" and you can hear her trying to convince herself she is.

It wasn't the weed or alcohol causing Mark to bowl with his fruit! It was his emotional reaction to Jeff provoking him - and possibly the goth-girl audience who he knew it might impress. (Granted, the weed/booze made him do it in a more stumbling disoriented way though ;)
