G’Day boys Thanks for checking out my video. I appreciate the positive feedback too! My car is a 1998 GU Nissan Patrol with 350,000 kms on the clock but doesn’t miss a beat. Takes me everywhere!! You’re spot on, full time worker and unfortunately lately that has got in the way of the fun stuff. Keep an eye out for my upcoming best beaches of this year though and some shirts in the mail - what size?

What a shame none of the local beaches that are in the Perth metropolitan area have been shown. Many popular beaches also with pristine waters and white sand. Have a look at Scarborough Beach, Cottesloe Beach, Trigg Beach, Floreat Beach and many others. I am a through and through parochial West Aussie.

In Eastern Gippsland in Victoria, there is the Ninety Mile Beach with a number of lakes beside it. The red dirt in Western Australia is full of iron ore which is mined for billions of dollars.

The iron content in the soil is so high that the soil rusts, that's where the red soil in this area comes from.

Looks like a Nissan Patrol, which has traditionally been the main direct competitor to the Landcruiser in the very popular "big 4WD wagon" market here. The Patrol mounts the spare on the barn door, whereas the Landcruiser usually has the spare under the body just behind the rear wheels (because it has horizontally split rear doors), unless specially modified to mount on the rear.

Some of the beaches on the south coast of WA the sand is so fine that it squeaks when you walk on it. We lived on the south coast for 20 years west of Albany and swam several times a week all year round and often had miles of pristine beaches to ourselves.

It's 'Straya and we speak 'Strine. WA is full of "Sandgropers' and their southern WA beaches are often inhabited by big "noahs" cruising the coast like Ubers on a Saturday night, so it's important to check out the water before you go in for a dip, otherwise the noahs might make sashimi out of your left leg.

I lived in WA for 15 years before we moved to VIC, and the thing I miss the most about WA is it’s beaches. In my opinion, WA has the best beaches in all of Australia (not that there aren’t some awesome ones out there in Queensland and NSW). I’ve been to all 5 beaches listed in the video, and they really are that epic in person. My favourite beaches have to be up at the Kimberly’s (I just love how the red rocks and cliffs blend into the ocean) and the turquoise, crystal clear waters down in Albany and Esperance. Epic fishing spots too!

Monkey mia’s beach is pretty average. It’s main draw is the dolphin pods. Shell beach and cape peron beach are far more spectacular, but you need a long wheel base 4wd to get to cape peron beach. Shell beach is white shells literally - because it’s Dead Sea salty in that part of shark bay all there is are shell fish and jelly fish. Thousands of years of crushed and ground white shells make fir a beautiful beach - and because of the sea grass you can walk out for miles in knee deep crystal clear water. You can float better there too, but you’ll come out white and salty. Got to pick your time of year on the shark bay peninsula though - winds there are gale force 24/7 in the windy season so you can’t go on the seaward side of the peninsula at that time of the year. But for good wa beaches there are city beaches and Rottnest island. Nearly all of these beaches in the video require 4wds and can be dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing. These are not really the best beaches in wa - pinkies beach on Rottnest is beautiful and accessible.
