I think our chocolate does taste different. I prefer ours for its more "real". Chocolate in the EU and in the USA is a lot sweeter. Picaras are the best. As a child I used to put them on as rings and ate them like that

The chocolate tastes different to you because it is different. In Peru, they use real chocolate for their cookies. Although I will admit that the Nestle sublime (pronounced soob-lee-may) isnt as good as when it what made by Donofrio, not nestle. Unfortunately American chocolate has very little chocolate in it and way too much sugar. Its funny because when a lot of Peruvians come over to the US, they think the candy here is way to sweet and fake tasting. Awesome review though! I love watching people learn new things about my food and culture.
