As others have said, dandelion and burdock needs to be included, the fentimans version of ginger beer. (which is extremely spicy), several versions of rubicon (will probably win) and something leftfield; KA branded drinks. They are brightly coloured carribean style. And dalston soda which are high end hipster soda made of natural juices and without added sugar.

The "tastes like cough syrup" reaction you had to Vimto is because of blackcurrants! They're not a fruit that's super common in North America even though they are EXTREMELY common elsewhere because the trees often carry a disease that is harmful to the native plant life so people grow up without it. In most of Europe "purple" flavoured things are blackcurrant, you'd have to go out of your way to find something grape flavoured. Interesting you had that reaction to Vimto but not Ribena! People outside The Americas have the same "ew that's medicine" reaction to root beer - often even stronger - because some of its component flavours, notably wintergreen is internationally used in things like cough medicine, children's toothpaste, chewing gum, etc. Feels very clean and not at all like it's something you're meant to consume if you grow up without it!
@Edders234

I live outside of the UK and finding out that a local supermarket had R White's lemonade turned me into a bouncing child. Admittedly I love sour stuff but seeing it all the way down there hurts my soul. Kvass, Russian bread beer. It's low alcohol and flavoured with fruit, and often treated like a soft drink Shandy is beer mixed with lemonade, Shandyade is just a brand name. If you want to make a kickass Moscow Mule - get some Crabbies Ginger Beer. It's an alcoholic ginger beer and it'll knock your socks off. Always add about 12½ ml of Stones Ginger Wine to your Mules too. Ginger beer also makes an awesome Dark n Stormy, which is similar to a Mule, except it's with dark rum instead of vodka. Use Kraken dark rum or Dead Man's Fingers dark rum. Forget the golden spiced stuff. If you want to tone down your Mules or DnS` sub the ginger beer out for ginger ale. It's lighter and not as fiery, so it's better on the stomach if you're drinking them all day. Fave cocktail to drink? Probably a Corpse Reviver #2... Fave to make? Mojito or a good solid Martini. Steer clear of any bar that uses white Bacardi for Mojitos, if they use Wray and Nephew (preferably the overproof) then stay put.
@StayBoozie
@StayBoozie 9 ай бұрын
I’ve never tried it with rum that sounds great! And ginger wine?! I’ve never had that!! Haha usually I just make Moscow mules with a regular ginger beer (no alcohol) vodka, ice, and fresh squeezed lime juice!
@BenBallard13
@BenBallard13 9 ай бұрын
@@StayBoozie stick 50ml of good quality vodka in it - Smirnoff Blue or Black or whatever brand is your favourite? The Ginger wine adds a smoothing element to it and tempers the roughness of the ginger beer. Be warned - if you use Crabbies in with the your Moscow Mules AND the vodka, you may lose a day. I tried it, drank 5 and can't remember how the day went. It was very hot. Lol Just like if you make Bloody Marys I always used to add 12½ml of a Ruby port into it. It adds an extra texture to the mouthfeel and a little more rich roundness to it. (I used to work cocktail bars and hotels that stocked premium spirits)
