A quick tip to all foreigners trying to speak Indian names: you pronounce just as it is written. There are almost never silent letters in Indian names (when written in English) as most of the languages India uses are based on pronunciations and not on spellings.....like you spell Honest but H is silent in english, but in Hindi you speak what you write. So don't try to over think what the name can be...they look difficult but are not..... Hope this helps you.

Everyone has trouble pronouncing my name, Abhinav. I know they're just not trying- if my name was like my sister's (Arundhati), then I understand. My name is not really that hard to say though. So I just tell people, "If you find my name too hard to say, you can call me Peesaravanmuthudoubledeckerbus Venkatabalasubramaniankrishnaswamypatel,"and they are suddenly able to pronounce my name perfectly.

Russians; Chinese Japanese; most Asian countries; some Scandinavians; some Europeans and anyone in near close to any Middle Eastern countries have too also very difficult names (both first and last names at times) to pronounce as well; and you are right about what you said!! I’m Indian but adopted and raised by white parents who know very little to zero about my Indian culture😢😢 I’m an adult I’m going to change my name to an Indian name hopefully real soon; why, because the American names they gave me DOES NOT go with my ethnic INDIAN look; never has never will😢😢 so I’m finally doing something about for once and long overdue in my life to do so as an adult🇮🇳❤️🇮🇳❤️
