And don’t forget to touch up the paint where the drill head hits the panel. Lol 4:58. These new systems seem much easier now compared to my 2011.

I have those on my f150 and it was easy to install great product. I jus have a question. Can I put the ones I have on 2023 GMC Sierra and if so what do I need to do?

My steps quit working with my rear doors on a 2022 Tahoe. Has anyone had this issue or know what may cause it ?

Waiting for retractable running boards to function based on the vehicles Unlock locked status versus door opened or closed. Such an inconvenience. Not looking to open my door in the rain while reaching top of vehicle or unfolding rooftop tent.

I have these steps on my 2017 Silverado. They are awesome. The only thing I needed to install them was a credit card and a phone. Pay a professional to have it done properly.

I just installed these on a 2022 Ram Crew cab Cummins. The steps and lights work great but the app will not connect to the steps. Using the link provided from the instructions did nothing but bring me to the Real Truck website. I downloaded the app from the Apple App Store and it loaded on my iPhone. The steps will not connect to the app without a password. It states the default password is the controller ID. I cannot find any information regarding what the controller ID is. I’ve tried every word number letter combination on the controller and the cable and nothing works. Occasionally ram13up Will lock up the app and it will show connecting for 20 minutes or so before I shut it off. So as of right now I have steps. Not smart steps

I bought a pair of AMP Research power running boards for my Silverado when I got it new in 2015, and I'd never buy another thing from them. I got maybe 2 years out of them before they quit working and I couldn't get them to replace the locked up power motor. On top of that, They mount the same way the factory running boards mount except AMP uses 2 mounts instead of 4 the factory boards use. This resulted in putting too much strain on the floor of the cab where they mount and cracked the rockers where they mounted while never coming close to the load rating of the boards. AMP Research is under-engineered and under-validated.

Except all AMP power steps come with a 5 year 60k mile warranty so I think your just a Karen.

Tried installing these on a ford. Your instructions absolutely suck, and claim these are plug and play but have customers searching for wires and tapping into them but your instructions are so bad that it’s near impossible to properly find those wires. So after cutting wires on a $90,000 truck that the instructions said to cut, the running boards randomly go up and down, and several of my trucks electrical systems don’t work. So not only am I down $1,700, I have cut wires on my brand new vehicle. I’d stay away from these.

Why would you have to cut into existing wires? I'm really thinking about buying these for my chevy, and really want to know? Is it because of the truck model? If I have to cut into my brand new trucks wiring system, its a deal breaker for me?

@@Dbrockjohnson do not listen to this dude, I’ve worked at an aftermarket truck shop installing this exact product. You do not have to cut or splice into any wires of ur trucks harness, this guy either didn’t read the instructions or thought he could do it himself and fucked up his truck. The wires given to you connect to the battery, you just have to buy zip ties so they can look uniform with the wires in ur truck as they run towards one side to ur driver and the other to the passenger. U will have to drill 4 holes on a lip behind the rocker panel for the led lights that light up the steps and you will have to crimp those. Other than that there is no cutting, except the excess that connects to battery. A lot of zip ties if you want it looking formal

Yeah, this guy must no read directions correctly. I installed these on my 2016 Silverado and did not have to splice into any wires. Plug and play.

Dude - WTF???? you must have not gotten the plug 'n play version. Go ahead and T - tap into your new $90,000 truck if you want. The OBD 2 splitter allows you to keep your OBD 2 port open. Even if you have to tap into your door harness, if you choose not to by the plug 'n play version - you don't have to cut anything! Just use T - taps. Were you drunk when you tried to install these...LOL?
