one wonderful ampy pedal: squeky clean or very warm jazz amp tone..!! also drivetone can be pushed: just ordered my 3rd one( 47€)

Interesting pedal. It’s got more fur than the MojoMojo (my favorite always on pedal). It’s a good take on the Princeton amp. Good video as always.

I use this in tandem with a Klon set to a dirty clean boost and the 65 as my higher gain source. Sounds great and pretty clear. I'm can get anywhere from Rancid to 70s AC/DC sounds of that setup.

It’s their take on the Jan Ray, which notoriously is a Timmy with the boost circuit from the Tim. The boost control is on the top of the Sixty-Five. Well worth experimenting with it, as it can change the top-end character quite a bit. The Sixty-Five is a great drive pedal, and I find it easier to dial in than the Timmy.

I compared it with the original Jan Ray side by side, some days ago. The sound and feel is 98% the same. I think the 2 % is tolerance of components. Fine pedal with a fat "amp" sound! It´s not fully the same with the Timmy.

Ooh, that's really interesting. It's not specifically Jan Ray inspired, but if it gets most of the way there, why not eh? Damn sight cheaper than the Jan Ray 😂😂

@@BudgetPedalChap it's very shure a Jan Ray Clone! I know this because I even build my own Jan Ray from schematics that are out on "tagboardeffects" blog...and it also sounds identical. But for the money for the NUX - nobody needs to clone it anymore. At least this message is my personal opinion of what I think after doing all my own comparisons. Greets Andrea

This one is really good ! I struggled a long time finding something that could reproduce Franz Ferdinand core tone, I have the Demon FX Jan Ray and Blue Angle Drive that fits but it has a litte too much mids and/or does not compress quite as much as this 65 ! To me ear, for those seeking this kind of tone, the 65 is the one ! the con part of these series is that the switch is crappy as hell and a classic replacement is not quite "fit in" : You have to bend the lugs of a standart switch and make sure the solder reach. Not that hard but be warned; I still think you and Nux should replace it !

They tend to be quite good with the development of their products, maybe they'll fix it on future revisions. Fingers crossed. I'm glad it's getting the tone you were after 👍

I subscribed a few weeks ago, I wish you didn't live across the pond, I'd send you a bunch to do. I went wild on aliexpress over the past 6 months, lol. Sold all my early 80s boss pedals, 10 of them, my KoT, 5 keeleys, and a host of others for over 5k while I built a board of hand wired and choice mini pedals from the far east for less than 400. I got so jazzed you can get these tones from pocketbook friendly effects. People in here in America tend to be put off on items from the far east, yet they buy off Amazon, and we're abandoned for the far east by big business a generation ago. You catch a 15% off with free shipping and then an extra 20 of when you spend over 159 you can do some serious damage on demonfx pedals and they're SICK!!! Some of the Tom's line are choice while others suck. As I told you earlier the mosky Mini Muff is a GEM. the purple iset Galaxy Flanger is great, soniccake crybot impressive...ill stop there lol. NUX makes some great stuff too, haven't played this one so looking forward to it. Was glad to sell my gear before this years used gear CRUNCH😨

@BudgetPedalChap as long as people think they can sell used, more modern gear, a few bucks less than they paid, this segment is GONNA GROW. The stuff I sold was vintage and classic and when I got the king of drive, I gotta say l liked it slightly better than my KoT and wait i can get a grand for several of my pedals????...I'm a musician, not a collector, so it sent me on this journey lol.

Quality/longevity/reliability is a factor though. That said, I'm having fun with cheap pedals as well.

@-vickyspit- no issues here at all either. @budgetpedalchap should of opened up the back of the KoD Dualgun and minichorus, Crazy good work! You can hear it too. I'm shocked at how good some of these mini microboards sound as well, although some don't play well with others.

TSV808 is a combination of ts808 and jan ray. In the product desc of Nux 65, it says "inspired by vemuram jan ray". So if this is really a fender voiced tubescreamer, then maybe it can be a (potential) cheap substitute to tsv808?

I got to confess I've never really understood how the amp in a box pedal work if you're running it into an app that's very distinctive like my AC 30. Like I just can't imagine that amp ever sounding Fender.

I've only ever used them in quite neutral sounding amps. I imagine it would take style pretty extreme EQ tricks to get an AC to sound like anything other than an AC. That's part of their charm 😂😂
