On a side note I discovered AMSOIL via impressive performance in older cars making the engine run vibration free. I discovered later it was due to the use of superior base oils which still today are not used by our 'assumed' competition.
Eric Buell said it best - He thought he had a serious crankshaft balance or design problem. Once he switched to AMSOIL he realized he was just using the wrong oil.
Many say any good oil will work with excellent results as long as it's changed on time - While I differ on that opinion, they are also missing out on significant performance and fuel economy worth pursuing. But on that first idea using the wrong brand in gasoline direct injection engines (majority of all engines today) or turbos you can severely harm intake valves or have pre-detonation issues caused by poor non-synthetic motor oils. Even if you change the motor oil at 50 miles!!

Cool. Start selling it at mainstream stores and I'll buy all things Amsoil. Unfortunately the only people who review/do videos on anything Amsoil are Amsoil salesmen.

We do sell it at mainstream stores. It's totally up to the owners of those (NAPA, Ford dealerships or Harley Davidson for example and we are in hundreds of those shops) or the manager (O'rilley's for example) can buy local with their card. But to get into Walmarts' you must limit the formulas to get the pricing they can buy in bulk. AMSOIL turned Walmart down because they gave AMSOIL a figure they would buy at - that's for public companies with no face to the name. Mr. Amatuzio has his name on the product and for that, there's no compromise as he tole be himself. No China plants make our oil but if you want the best made in USA and your equipment to perform best you can find AMSOIL locally or online. Call me 800-579-0580. Simply request it in your locally owned shop you frequent. We are also expanding into quick lubes all across the country. It's becoming our main sales outlet. But you can help by requesting our products and dropping our number at these shops. We are getting in the OEM and industrial business where the gear boxes in wind-turbines, steam turbines, transformer oils ETC buy from the manufacturer so we are thrilled of that outlet. Nonsense. Retail is brutal on what they require to get to THEIR price points on any products, including lubricants. Compromises. Amsoil, i don’t care where I have to purchase it, is outstanding and will continue to put it in all my vehicles and machines.

So my 98 Mercury Grand Marquis with 79,000 mi i just got in pretty sure rear diff fluid has never been changed, calls for motorcraft 80w90 but this seems better, because its synthetic right? The 80w90 of course

Hi, Off topic question, could you do a video on the new Amsoil upper cylinder treatment ? I just bought a case. I also use the P.I. How the two products differ and the advantages of using the upper cylinder treatment with every tank full.

I can now that we have had some experience with the product. It's not the same as the PI. Basically if you drive 20,000 miles or more yearly then the Upper Cyl Lube will benefit you. You do have to use it all the time and buy by the case to keep it cheap. I experienced great fuel economy using the cheapest gasoline and 10% ethanol as well (I only use ethanol only if I am going to burn the whole tank within a 2-3 day period). So it works and you really see the benefits when you get past 200,000 miles.

I just inherited a 97 tahoe (2WD, 250K miles) with a posi-trac that was bought new by my family that calls for 80w90. Would it need the extra friction multiplayer additive if I used the Amsoil 80w90 severe Gear oil or just the oil alone? Thanks.

I have a 25-year-old Jeep TJ with an AX-15 transmission. I'm trying to reduce the transmission whine, and I don't understand the difference between the manual transmission oil 75W-90 and the severe gear 75W-90. I just want the best product to reduce the sound and suppress the noise as much as possible. Can you help me to make the choice between these two?

Can you use the transaxle and rear diff fluid interchangeably? I have a 2022 Nissan pathfinder and says full synthetic 75w90 in the front and 75w90 semi in the back. Don’t know why it would be different.

‏Hi I have Lexus LX570 2014 it used in the Middle East has been used 85w140 in 30k mile was put 6 years in the front and rear differential and he has 120k mile now How can you help me change to the right oil the righ oil is 75w90 Should I go with 75w110 to avoid sounds or problems Or what is your advice on this issue , I have little noses coming in front differential , A sample of oil was taken and it looks good ‏no dark color

What's the difference between Amsoil 75w90 GL4 and Amsoil Severe Gear 75w90 that doesn't say GL4?

The Severe Gear is a GL5 which is for hypoid gears or differentials. the GL-4 is for helical gears or transmissions when the manufactuer calls for that,.

My Cayenne says it needs 75W90, would there be any benefit to my putting in 75W140 as I do in our Grand Cherokee?

Less fuel economy and more heat. Going up in weight ads a load on the vehicle. our 75W-90 is one of our most advanced products. You get reduced temperatures, longer life and better performance all around. In general you would want to use the lowest viscosity you can.

Hello, tell us , can GL5 gearbox be used where a GL4 is requeired? In my country is hard to find GL4 gearbox oil, thanks in advance.

It's not recommended but some GL-5's the brand will note if it is safe to use as a GL-4.. So it's strictly based on the brand. AMSOIL you can because the additives which cause harm on yellow metals are not activated as long as the gear box temperatures stay within normal temperatures. (generally below 300F). Also GL5's which are labeled as Transaxle Gear Lube. Our AGL Severe Gear GL-5 for example is also a Transaxle gear lube.
