I am writing on behalf of my soon to be 10 year old son who follows Amtrak trains as a hobby. He said this is an "awesome video"!

During the Thanksgiving Holiday, Amtrak is the busiest year. They leased equipment from NJ Transit and MARC in order to accommodate all the passengers. SEPTA runs on this line.

@mfcengine492 Thanks, every year on Thanksgiving Amtrak has 2 sets of MARC Trains, and 2 Sets of NJT that heads down to DC and NY. Busiest day of the year for Amtrak.

@Acela150Kid yes, the second set had the extra HHP-8, I saw it go by Jersey Avenue, but didn't have time to catch it. Heard the headlights weren't working.

I wish the 44's still ran... I'd run an ALP-46/A with bi-levels to Washington, Arrows are great for local trains but painful for the long haul. Bi-levels, they are good for long-haul expresses.

Did they run the dead HHP with the second MARC set back to DC? But what's more intresting is in the past three years. (2009-2011) trains have gone down in increments of about 10. At least in the 5 hours that we spend at Frankford Junction. But it's in favor for longer trains. I don't know if that's such a good idea. Simply because of overcrowding.

I wonder why every single time they use an 8-car Arrow-III MU set, if they are only limited to a top speed of 80 mph? I hear they are packed too, perhaps run something longer.
