In this video we are at the site of what was once the CN Clifton Yard located in NiagaraFalls.
Not much can be seen here nowadays as the entire yard is completely torn out as of May 4, 2023.
This is probably the least busiest part of the Grimsby subdivision as far as we can tell as it only sees a couple amtrak trains and a few GO train for special occassions to NiagaraFalls.
At the moment we are dumbfounded by a few mysteries and hopefully we will be able to modified our answer sometime later. Like when was the Clifton yard was torn out and was it common to see freight
trains come through NiagaraFalls.
One estimate that was given to us was the Clifton Yard was torn out in the mid 2000 and last freight train ran sometime around the mid to late 1990s.
Lastly we estimate that Victoria Avenue Overpass is located at about milepost 1.14 on the Grimsby Sub base on some measurement made using Church's Lane crossing(2.63) as a reference point for said measurement.
However one comment on Paul Duncan's Webpage:
www.niagararails.com/grimsby....
indicate Victoria Avenue referenced as milepost 1.3 We are not sure if that's the offical Victoria Avenue milepost or the control point milepost.
Hopefully as we learn more we will be able to provide better description about NiagaraFalls Railway current and past history.
Until than, Thanks for watching!
