I actually disagree with Jin when he said that his voice isn't emotional or powerful. I mean he's very humble, too humble sometimes. His vocal are known to be the most emotional and powerful within the fandom and everyone always says that he has so much passion in his voice.

Jin is extremely underestimating and under-appreciating himself and his voice. He’s the only member that has been dumbed silver voice by the Grammys. The Korean Grammys nominated the song “fake love “ because of his spine tingling falsetto and they actually won. People continuously say that he’s the most stable live and that his emotional performance of “epiphany” leaves them speechless. He’s the only member that’s has received applause twice after his performance. Not to forget his incredible triple high note in Crystal snow. He is a powerhouse but he doesn’t realize it. He can belt Mariah Carey's high notes (G4-F#5) his vocal range is incredible. You should check out Dionysos for his note Switches. I could honestly go on and on.

If you agree with Jin’s assessment of his own vocal, then you really don’t know him well. He always downplays himself. His vocal is very powerful and emotional! You need to listen to him more!

Hi Adam, Namjoon is RM. He's one of the main songwriters in BTS. He's written and co-written around 172 songs (per May 2021).

jin has the most powerful and emotional voice in bts, he is the best at conveying emotions and has the best pronunciation. he is very humble and downplays himself a lot when he is talking about music because he started learning how to sing at 20/21 years whereas other members had been learning from a very early age. he wanted to be an actor, not a singer and he had auditioned as an actor in bighit but bighit wanted to put him in bts so he learned to sing and dance from scratch but he is an amazing singer.

Jin was down after BTS was nominated for Grammy and he was receiving tons of congratulations from everyone. That's, according to him, was when he started doubting himself, like whether he deserved all that. He explained in an interview that he felt like there were so many people who loved music more than he did, and who deserved the fame and praise he was getting. That's why the Abyss was born.

I agree with both Jin and Jungkook's assessment of his voice in terms of being clean and youthful. There is something incredibly pure and sentimental about his voice. But I really think Jin was downplaying himself when he said that he doesn't have a powerful or emotional voice because he's the same man that moved entire stadiums of people to tears with Epiphany. He can REALLY belt powerfully with a clarity that is pure. And his voice is really stirring. But no matter what he says of his own abilities, Jin has never been one to shy away from putting work in. I recall his vocal coach saying that he not just improved but transformed as a singer starting from scratch. He may not think he's all that, but really he certainly should give himself more credit. This is not from the perspective of calling him perfect, but from one of saying it as it is. He really is a fantastic vocalist who can move people and hold them in his thrall with his voice.

Jin is very humble, I think he is the member that has progressed the most of all, because in his debut he didn´t have complete experience in singing, dancing or in the musical field, but he has improved a looooooot and is definitely not below the others members, all thanks to these +8 years of effort I'm sorry for my English, I'm from Mexico and english it's not my first language

Jin and Jungkook are same because both are better at talking abt personal experience and both are extremely introverts. Jin really downplay his talent and abilities. i am not saying that he is perfect because nobody can be perfect but he definitely worked hard on his vocals because you can see improvements in his vocals with every new album.

Yes, you should definitely listen to Abyss, and you'll be able to judge why Jin has had to experience being thrown into the dark bottomless pit of depression. Dynamite was the song that made ARMYs who care for all 7 members explode in outrage when it first premiered. Jin only starts to sing 2 mins 22 secs after the song of 3:43 mins starts! He only has 2 lines & 2 hooks, both just repeating what others have sung previously. And this is a VOCAL-based song! Plus in the MV, he's the only member with no solo set built for him. That might be why he felt undeserving of the Grammy & other achievements Dynamite has garnered. First, it wasn't written & composed by BTS so none of them could take any credits except for performing it; second, his part in it was so small yet not insignificant. Because, during he countless Dynamite performances, starting from its Premiere at the VMA then on to the NPR Tiny Desk Concert last year and finally to the Grammys this year, every time Jin opened his mouth to sing & the camera was on him, people started asking, "Who's the Brown Suit Guy/Who's the Guy with the Pink Mic/Who's the Orange Suit Guy?" I really think u still unfamiliar with their personalities, jin is the most complicated member of bts, its really hard to undrestand him, he is so complicated. Hi Adam, thanks for taking the time to watch and try to understand Jin a little better :) About the part where Jin says he makes notes for recording, I think he means that he makes those notes before recording sessions, based on previous comments from the producer (as they're mostly the same, and he can guess what is expected from him by now). Also, I understand from a vocal coach's standpoint that everyone can improve and yes, Jin can only improve coz that's the kind of person he is. All the members work really hard, but it has been said many, many times by the members themselves that Jin works the hardest, to make up for what he feels he lacks/struggles with. Don't believe everything he says tho', Jin is known for always downplaying his abilities. It could be humility, it could be some insecurities. I have been surprised by Jin many, many times after watching a live performance and finding out certain parts which I thought V, or Jimin or Jungkook sang was actually sung by Jin. I hope he realises just how much he touches our hearts with his emotional (and powerful vocal) performances.

Please listen to abyss. It’s so emotional it’s beautiful. Sometimes I find it hard to listen to it because it sounds too vulnerable if I myself am not in a good head space at that moment. It almost hurts too much. But it’s also what makes it so beautiful when an artist puts their heart out like that. I think “boy-like” is definitely a positive in this context. I find the whole presence of Jin boyish in the sense that he is forever young. He has maintained the child-like innocence within himself. Very untainted by the world. This quality comes through in his vocal too. He always sounds “sincere” to me or “unembellished” as he describes it himself. Jin is just being humble here. As much as he’s humble, the amazing mental quality I see in him is that he fully embraces himself. He accepts all his strengths and weaknesses. I don’t think he feels bad with not having “finesse”, rather he accepts the type of singer that he is and the vocal tone that he naturally possesses.

Jin is the "worldwide handsome" most confident member on-cam but the truth is he is really humble, too humble that it hurts to listen to him when he talks about his own abilities like this. He is actually a very talented person he has a lot of talents and skills even the members say he's good at many many things. Like, I didn't even know he was a Taekwondo black belter until RUN BTS.

Adam I'm not sure if you know this but Namjoon is RM's real name. He is always a huge part of the album in terms of the production and is also almost always the biggest contributor to the lyrics of the album. The members often ask for his help/advice when it comes to the lyrics for the song. RM previously had the stage name Rap Monster which he later changed to RM. Namjoon is RM aka the leader of BTS. i love that you are reacting to all of these interviews! thank you! i don't know if you've already heard about it, but recently bts perfomed a really nice medley for their festa room live. i think you would love it, because since they are mainly just sitting down and chilling, it doesn't have a loud backing track like in most of their dancing performances. so you can hear their voices well and maybe there are some songs you haven't heard yet! they only chose b-sides for the medley :)

You got Jungkook's feelings wrong here and during his interview from JHope. He ALWAYS writes about himself or his experiences. He said he wanted to TRY writing from an imaginary position. All the BTS songs you've listened to and all the information people have given you I don't understand how that wasn't clear. Also you got what Jin said incorrect. Jin said he wrote the verses and Namjoon did the chorus. He understands he has to work at it. Jin's whole story with BTS is working at it. He wasn't a singer or dancer when he joined BH, he joined as an actor so he started from base zero when it comes to singing. But he knows what he can do with his voice. Right now I think he enjoys the place where his voice is. You said you thought you were ARMY, I think you have to learn more about the men of BTS because much of what I just said is very well known if you understood their songs, motivations and them. Liking their voices is nice but you have to know the singers and the music as well.

I think jin was wrong about this thing that he didnt improve bcz i see a very huge improvement in his vocals since debut. Especially in the LY era to MOTS7 he made great progress.
