An Annual Pork Stew Feast is a Must-Have in Winter Months

It's time for the annual pork stew feast again. On this day, we will prepare a jar of fermented pickled vegetables, a bowl of "Red Raw Cold Dish" and some stir-fried sour pig blood. We will also mix the golden roasted pig skin with sour papaya vinegar, make stir-fried pork with fava beans, stir-fried pig liver with garlic sprouts and brewed some pickled vegetables using the broth.
Family members who are working outside the village all come back one after another. After having take-outs for most of the year, the annual pork stew feast in the winter months always reminds us of the coming Spring Festival.

Many people here arguing about the way this meat it's treated. Being Nice it's not bad, she put all the love and effort on this. She's showing us the culture of that gastronomy. Don't be disrespectful. BTW You don't eat Steak Tartar? Or sushi? That's raw itself. Don't be disrespectful.

Jazmin Maniac, I think lots of people are not really disrespectful, it's kinda surprising, 'cause in many countries you are educated not to eat raw pork meat. It's the result of the Aujeszky virus, which is held in (raw) pork! But in most of the countries, meat is (still) Aujeszky free. 😊

@@livainyangnyang6294 Not many are close minded but some are like you - very uneducated. Raw pork is very risky adventure. 10 000 cases of Trichinella every year in China proves this. Educate yourself because no matter how hard you want to stick to your ignorance you cannot bit few hundred years of medicine.

Yep, because throughout thousand years our ancestors had been through famine and starvation, so they had to come up with some sort of solution to use up all they had, which is pretty much a greener way to live than throwing out chicken legs and only eating the breasts as in some stories I've heard xD

@@user-hp9dq7iy2t китайская кухня признана во всём мире, она на втором месте в топе, после итальянской. Зато русской кухни вообще нет ни в каком рейтинге. Она однообразная и пресная, почти все блюда похожи друг на друга. Так что я бы поспорил, что страшнее.

I am from the U.S. born and raised, love it, love my country but somewhere we definitely F'd things up! This is how we are supposed to live. Family, team work, bonds and traditions that can't be broken. No one is looking at their cell phones, just living in the moment. Yes we have family cookouts, crawfish boils etc. but 99% of everyone is glued to phone, TV, etc. We don't source our own food we buy it and cook it. When we will need those valuable skills it most likely won't be there. Stopped generations ago when fast food and WalMart moved in.

Well im pretty sure all far provinces in each countries have this well family oriented trait. The way they team worked for specific gatherings so dont be gloomy. I lived in far province of our country same good same old but once i moved in the city my lifestyle changed. So when im pretty tired of anything in city i can always go back to our province to relax, have peace of mind and collect myself again for another stress in the city.

I've read comments here, about eating raw meat, blood and all, people have in mind this is you tube, and we watch this videos not only because we like em but also to learn about different cultures, in Mexico as a child I loved to eat the pork blood of course it was cooked as it shows here in this video,,, let's not criticise, but enjoy and learn, is something I wouldn't eat no more but I love this videos, cooking is so similar to Mexican food, I love it, specially with all the veggies, spices nothing goes to waste, Dianxi is a great cook with so much wisdom, I wish I lived there just to enjoy and walk all around the hills full of fruit and veggies,, Blessings to all of you,,🐝👑🙏🎄🍀🍀🍀👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 I LOVE JAPANESE, CHINESE TRADITIONS, WELL I SHOULD SAY ALL ASIAN TRADITIONS AND THEIR CULTURES...

@Malika Bee Eating raw pork is a cultural thing. Consequences aren't. 10 thousands new cases of trichinosis each year in China, probably more than the rest of the world combined, shows this clearly. Probably next on the list is Thailand (around 500 each year) since traditional new year dish with undercooked pork meat. Why in your opinion an average life expectancy is now longer than back in days when everyone ate only homegrown organic food? Few hundred years of medicine into the bin because now we have internet geniuses. SMH

Raw minced meat is also a delicacy in Germany and a total normal thing to eat on bread. We also sell blood sausage on the supermarket shelf. It's not just an asian thing.

If I'm being honest, nothing here was tempting (to my personal taste) but no matter what she cooks I stay for the family dynamic, dawang's antics, and dianxi's lovely personality. It's ok if not every viewer likes every recipe because there are millions of us tuning in globally and we're raised differently but also have unique tastebuds. Even being in the same culture doesnt guarantee they'll like the same stuff; Lots of chinese people hate certain dishes that are popular in their culture too. It's natural to see things differently as long as its respectfully observed.

I think the hob with the huge wok is great. And especially how carefully you handle the food. You live almost self-sufficient until maybe the spices you buy. Great.

The minced pork meat isn't really raw because the acid from the lemon and the fermented greens added in the beginning will 'cook' the meat so it is like pork ceviche. If in doubt, research :)
