Hello Frank! I apologize, I did not say copper was better than silver here. I was stating that "silver plating over copper is not a sound I like" I do have solid silver for my digital coax cables, & a solid silver/copper hybrid in my Axios headphone cable. For my analog cables such as interconnects and speaker cables on my larger systems I do prefer all copper because of the way it adds warmth & images. But that's a personal preference. Silver has much more conductive properties and interacts with impedance* differently. Most times when people compare a copper to silver conductor cable, their ears immediately pick up that the silver seems audibly brighter while copper is warmer. That's why a lot are either a mixture of silver and copper or silver plated copper. Honestly it comes down to your personal sound preference and is subjective. I have the ThieAudio Oceanic, which are pladdium coated silver cables and I love them but that doesn't automatically mean you would. Quality of metal also matters. Anyone can say 99.999 "fill in the blank"percent X metal but I've seen videos where they bring cheap cables to jewelry stores to test and the purity of the metal and it's not close to 99.999%

It wasn't the hissing for me. The stock cable had to much sibilance in the voices & in the highs. Also the stock cable was to closed in, the Altea opened up the sound stage and warmed everything up. I hope you aren't evaluating the Altea fresh out of the box? It needs about 75-200hrs before I could do any serious listening at all with it (damn burn in!). I'm using it with the dragonfly cobalt running Tidal. I hope it gets even better for you! 👌🎼💯💥

I have had a really odd issue specific to the Monarch MKII's. With my iBasso DX320 with the Monarchs stock cable, which is 20.bucks on linsoul and while "expensive" cable doesn't mean better and cheaper doesn't mean trash, I ordered the Thieaudio Oceanic and for some reason it made the Monarchs louder, noticeably louder which was odd. At most, a cable should slightly change the sound signature. It also has an amazing sound signature but the volume level confuses me. My best guess is impedence on the stock cable. silver has much more conductive properties and interacts with impedance* differently. No, it's the Altea cable upgrade that did it. The stock cord makes them sound nothing like the HD600. I also have an Axios cable on the HD600. Both with stock cords don't sound alike. You're not deaf 😁👌💯🎼✨

Gauge is total. So a 2 core can be thicker gauge than 4 core. I find a thicker gauge to offer a fuller bass. But build quality & type of copper, silver etc...matter as well. Thanks for watching Jairo! 👌🎼✨

Altea was Warmer, smoother, open, & relaxed. No listening fatigue. The stock cable was more closed in and dynamic with a stringent top end. Any all copper cable should sound better than silver plated copper in my opinion. Thanks for watching! 👌🎼✨

I also bought the same altea wire. :) There are so many different tripowin cables to choose from, gee. got Altea 4.4mm and 4.4mm to XLR adapter for my existing amp. got Zonie 3.5mm as well if i need to connect it to iphone. I am not sure if there's any difference between Altera and Zonie.

I meant portable as in take it with you on trips... my trip rig for the source is the fiio M11 Pro SS stacked to the ifi Diablo ... I also decided to make my 7hz wireless with the fiio UTWS -5 ... it works quite well as a wireless... according to fiio they are working on a firmware update so the 7hz should get EQ soon with the UTWS-5 wireless...

If I didn't, the cable would get returned for my money back. However if someone doesn't hear a difference, I don't tell them they are wrong and crucify them for it.
