That Lady Blackbird CD is phenomenal. Great instrumentation, exceptional arrangements, mind-blowing vocals and the recording really does a good system justice. Reminiscent of Nina Simone, but unique in other ways.

I can’t believe I missed those concerts I would have loved to have seen both of them as they are in rotation on my system often. Thanks for the shout out! 👍 I agree with everything you said , Lady Blackbird is just an amazing singer and her band is top notch , the recording is second to none and really shows if a system has what it takes to separate the instruments from the singer , very wide open sound that I personally love to hear . Plus the fact that she remind of Nina Simone just is the icing on the cake , it’s kind of scary how much she sounds like her at times yet is so soulful, it’s my favorite Jazz album as of now as well .
