I love the points on making use of your location when running, I unfortunately don't have a car, but live on some big rolling hills, so am always doing hill repeats lol.

This long run felt SO much nicer than last week now that it cooled off a little but those annoying grasshoppers are everywhere because of the unusually wet winter.

What a wholesome way to use a Ginormous beer stein. Though I’m sure it will be filled with beer in a few years. Also awesome that a quote from some troll about mile times has been turned into merchandise.

I throughly enjoy the energy and enthusiasm your videos project towards running and life in general (bravo). As you guys pursue whatever careers you choose, you are definitely going to be successful and become leaders in those fields. A small critique, as you speak, be careful using crutch words too often (um and ah). As you mature professionally please believe it will matter (in my pass I was an officer in the USAF and was task to give weekly briefings to many dignitaries) the deliverance of the presentation is as important as the presentation itself.

These are fun to watch. Enjoy your youth because in about 10 years you’ll be stuck in an office somewhere driving your kids to soccer practice during your spare time. And running at 5 am in the morning before work. Wondering why you can’t break 18 in the local Turkey trot.
@_Tp__
@_Tp__ Жыл бұрын
You think 10 years they’ll have kids old enough to drive to their sporting events and be unfit??? I’d hope they’d still be competing in events at 28 😭
@DrMuellersVoice
@DrMuellersVoice Жыл бұрын
@@_Tp__ If you go back and re-read what I typed you will see it says "you will be driving". Not the kids! But you are correct in that it may be more like 15-25 years for them. I didn't realize that were 18 and most people choose to have kids and get married later on in life. As far as still competing at age 28 and in 30's, it is certainly possible and maybe even probable. That said, I have seen many elite athletes like this go in either direction. Some retire from running, are satisfied with moving on, and do not compete anymore. Others continue to train for marathons, triathlons, etc. Some even become ultra runners! Most end up in a successful career partly due to the discipline and focus running teaches you. As someone that has coached, competed, and been in the running scene for some time, I have seen that amongst collegiate and elite runners. The number of miles that they run will increase their capillaries, mitochondria levels, and cardiovascular system to a point where they will be solid runners for decades if they take care of their body's going into 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s. Finally, my comment was not to be taken literally, but more to encourage young people to enjoy their youth while they have it. I did not intend for the comment to be a "put down" in any way. Because most of us (not all) end up married, with kids, and a stressful job which makes life a lot more difficult. To have it where you can focus on running and school is pretty dang good in my opinion. I am in my 40s now and still train and compete in races. That said, waking up super early to run, then work, then do other things is a reality in my life now and most peoples. Good luck! My guess is the greater audience of these videos are 16-20 some year olds and they may not understand all of that yet. But soon you will! Good luck in whatever you pursue.
