Yeah I saw that. When I saw what the speedrunner was doing I thought "How does this cause "Too Complex"?" but I find the technical explanation is a bit interesting. The game's "Infinte Loop" and "Too Complex" statements are, in fact, outright lies. It's impossible for any computer program to prove either condition has been met, so the game uses an internal variable and upticks it every time a rules change occurs, and if enough happen quickly enough to lag the game, the game displays the message. This is why on the Switch version there is a noticeable lag spike before an infinite loop happens- without this failsafe the game would simply freeze.

And for the actual explanation: Toggling on and off "force high contrast lines" in settings causes rule updates even when paused despite not advancing the gamestate. So do that fast enough and you trick the game into saying "too complex"

There was a similar concept, except it's on a short time limit, and all momentum is kept while the game is "paused." I don't remember the name, but it was a very, very well made game.

I always thought about a game like this, some sort of puzzle or platformer but you have to use the settings to beat the levels. I recall you played a level back, which required you to change the contrast in order to win, and there were seven flash games with a similar concept. They all remind me of this.

Not sure if it has a stage like this, but my absolute favorite 4th Wall breaking game, and one of my favorite flash and puzzle games, The Only Level. Or something like that, The sick-ass elephant puzzle game where you do cool stuff to open doors.

theres a very epic game called "That Level Again", it also makes u solve thta kind of puzzles and messing around with even the device settings as mute or airplane mode

@@ellayeryt1303 Oh yeah! That's a really good fangame series, 1 and 2 are really good, 3 is pretty bad cause it tries to go for a groundhogs day kind of thing, which makes it REALLY boring until you find out how to break the loop. And 4 is honestly just confusing. But first two are amazing.
