Nah, every modified chess games out there can do that (and other illegal moves). Like Ouroboros King literally remove all restriction on illegal moves including your king attack enemy king (or general in the game) which is useless unless the AI difficulty is set to Martin or your king is invulnerable because his heir and force him into the border / boulders / blocking pieces / etc. Another example is explosive chess (which pieces explode and delete adjacent pieces) in addition kings can stalemate by explosion that hit both of them or kamikaze your/their king to their/your king. Checkmate showdown allow your fucking king 1vs1 street fight their king and vice versa if you want to (assuming your king isn't checkmated and every moves force king vs king).

Idea for a sequel: have other red pieces on the field that will capture your pieces when they’re in range. Of course, you can capture the red ones to remove them from the board.

Idea: chess but all the pieces have some buff. Bishops can move one square parallel to the squares in any direction whenever they like (this kills OCB endgames), Knights can move to any opposite-color square Manhattan distance

Did you know that the knights L shape in the rules of chess is not defined as an "L shape, that goes 2 to an side then 1 in a different, perpendicular side" the way most of us think of. But instead, "The knight can step anywhere within a 2 tile radius that is not accessible diagonally or orthogonality to it's current position" So technically a knight is a "Step anywhere on the board piece MINUS everything that's more than 2 tiles away, MINUS where a queen could step"

I dunno if this game has one or not, but it definitely needs a "free chess" mode, where you can play a match white vs dark with gravity effects. You could maybe add in a setting to give each colour its own directof gravity, and maybe add obstacles too.

Would be nice if this can be implemented into the original chess. The Gravity will be based on your own side so it won't fall apart at the very start of the game, and the gravity is always active (but I don't think the game will be playable after multiple pieces are captured). Maybe you can choose whether or not the piece you're moving will be affected by gravity or not? This will allow for piece stacking anywhere you want.
