One aspect of Zelda games that I've always appreciated is the relaxing pass-time that is fishing. I'm not sure why, but it always seems to lure me in - hook, line and sinker. Because of this, I decided to cast my mind back to these fond memories and create an entire video about this topic. Hope this deep dive into my line of thought catches your attention! Yes, I was angling to include as many fish puns as possible, but for now I'll try to reel it in.

1:37 "When you're there, you just feel so distant from the battles..." (hooks a fish, battle music starts playing...) 2:44 I just love what you do here. The music choice is perfect, I got a real good laugh out of this part. 3:16 Rule 4 of video games: If a game specifically tells you to not do something, do it. (I've hooked his hat on the original N64, before the days of the internet, specifically because of that sign. They knew what they were doing.) 3:49 I guess you could say that he wasn't going to let Link... off the hook. 5:34 I really liked the lore of these characters in this game, but I also like that the old fishing pond guy's picture is still in the N64 style. Like, people just had less polygons back then. 9:02 "How you catch the fish is down to you and the resources you have available." Bombs. You're talking about bombs, the _other_ traditional way to catch fish. 9:15 "Where's the fun in that?" I don't think I've ever caught fish with a spear in that game, but I gotta say, it looks pretty fun to me.

Not to mention the new fishing holes in MM3D, they worked the same as OoT except you had a variety of fish to catch!

I was disappointed that Botw didn't have fishing. I didn't get TOTK because it didn't have fishing. All those bodies of water and they don't bother to incorporate a fishing option.

At least WW does give an in game lore reason for why fishing isn't in the game, since fish do not live in the Great Sea. I genuinely don't know why fishing was left out of BotW/TotK.

I'm bummed that you didn't bring up Majora's Mask 3D, considering how it had a large variety of fish you could catch by wearing different masks, how there were two dedicated fishing holes, and how you could catch the legendary Lord Chapu-Chapu

I know we all hate the 3DS Majora's Mask remake, but you could've at least mentioned the fishing minigsmr they added there Like, you can catch Jabu-Jabu's cousin in MM3D

Oh man, the Majora's Mask 3DS remake was actually my first experience of the game, but when I was playing through it, I didn't really have the time to play it as thoroughly as I'd have liked. There was a lot of stuff I completely missed on my playthrough since I was kinda rushing through it, and the fishing minigame sadly must've been one of those things. I'd love to go back and give it a try now, it seems like they put a lot of effort into it - I think I'm overdue a replay anyways, so this is the perfect excuse!
