Do you remember the Island Flyover mode from Wii Sports Resort?
The mode that let you fly around Wuhu Island to your heart's content, searching for information points and earning stamps along the way. There were definitely more action-packed sports in this game, but this one always caught my attention thanks to its relaxed, more free-roaming nature. So join me today as I ramble on about it for a whole entire video!

It's a shame there was never a mode that had unlimited time and co-op compatibility. The dogfights were great, but island flyover with a friend/family member would have been even better!

Unlimited time would've taken this mode to the next level - being able to fully explore the island to your heart's content would be a dream come true. Co-op is a good shout as well!

This was honestly my favourite mode in the game as well. It managed to make Wuhu Island feel like a living, breathing place, that you would genuinely like to go on holiday to. It did for me anyways.

Completely agree! Made me wish for a mode where you could just walk freely around the island and select which sport you wanna play that way.

"all the cars here are electric" Implies wuhu island and Nintendo are pretty advanced in terms of sustainability, not to forget the wind turbines scattered around the island

Wuhu Island is such a delightful destination. I love how it appeared in so many games, too! The next Mario Kart really needs to bring it back! 🏁

Agreed pal, Maka Wuhu was such a fantastic track. At least we have the Wuhu Town Battle Course in Mario Kart 8!

I think also at the Castle in the River, there's different songs depending on the time I loved this video . Flyover was my favorite ever minigame on Wii Sports Resort

i remember playing this for hours as a child! finally could play wii again recently and im playing this like crazy, trying ti get all the i-points during day, dawn and night. it also took me ages to find sweet beach, and also the icarus cliffs (it’s called that in german) and the golf area B were surprisingly hard to find. finished all the i-points for the day today, going to try to go for dawn soon

Hey! I saw SmashMax promote the DK Rap video, (Hilarious video, by the way) and I'm glad I found your channel! I'm currently watching through some of your other videos right now, and I gotta say, this is great! I've kinda become known as "The Wuhu Island guy" in some circles, so I always love to see more Island Flyover appreciation. Also, I think I may have seen your DK64 video while looking for inspiration for my own script a year ago. Kinda cool how these things work out. SMH no spoiler alert for the i points eyebean that's a nono. Jokes aside, island flyover was one of my FAVOURITE game modes in Wii sports resort and I feel like I want to go back to it and actually gather all points in all the times, so thanks for the vid! Edit: also: i still remember the long session in this game mode, the amount of pain my arm felt those times from all the continuous boosting of the plane to not waste any time.. fun times

Glad you enjoyed, this was such a fun little mode - you should definitely go back and complete it at some point! Hahaha, whenever I wanted to get to the Golf Island, I'd always boost the whole way through lmao
