On Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, former U.S. Secret Service agent and best-selling author Clint Hill and his co-author, Lisa McCubbin, joined Friends of the LBJ Library members for a special "Evening With" program.
Hill and McCubbin discussed Hill's poignant and powerful memoirs based on his time of serving five U.S. presidents. He is most notably remembered for being in the motorcade in Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963-assigned to protect First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy-when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. His brave and swift actions of leaping onto the back of the presidential limousine to protect President and Mrs. Kennedy while shots were being fired are credited with saving Mrs. Kennedy's life.
Program introduced by Tom Johnson, chairman emeritus of the LBJ Foundation Board of Trustees.

Clint Hill was a truly loyal and dedicated public servant and secret service agent, who showed remarkable agility and bravery because by leaping onto President Kennedy’s limousine on that fateful day, he was putting his ‘life on the line.’

A true American hero, a man of honour, integrity, bravery and respect. May God always bless you with good health. Just a comment about this interview, I’m baffled as to why Lisa and the producers conducted the whole thing while standing! Clint is in his late eighties, and there are clearly two comfortable chairs on the stage. I have never seen anything so bizarre in all my life!

A thoroughly decent man. He was the only agent that ran into the line of fire, while knowing that he could have been killed himself. That's courage.

All I can say is WOW, I am astonished and respecting his opinion that LHO was the lone assassin in Dealy Plaza. On 11/22/63. I always thought that the agents would think conspiracy given that they would've had access to more detailed information than the general population had even in 63. I'm 41 and have watched the news footage and documentaries and read lots of books on Kennedy and those four days in November, and many times had my thinking swing from the LNT TO CT. When I read or watched things pertaining to the assassination. IMHOP I do think there was more than one shooter and yes a shot came from the grassy knoll or the Dal-Tex buliding. Or there was another shooter in the TSBD, on another floor. I respect Mr Hill for protecting Mrs Kennedy on that day. But the one thing I always wondered why didn't they just stay on Main St, instead of taking that long sweeping turn onto Elm st. They wouldn't had to slow to under 10 M.P.H.. But would they still had a way to get to the trade mart by staying on Main St. Does anyone know the answer. Thank You And Thank you Mr Hill for your years of service and dedication to the U.S. Secret Service. May God Bless You.

OK, this was a great presentation with a lot of great historical perspectives from someone in a position of witness to history. I respect Clint for his great service to Mrs. Kennedy, but does anybody in 2017 really believe that Oswald acted alone, and that the Secret Service really did their job that day ? Why weren't more motorcycles flanking the car ? Why weren't agents on the back of the limo ? [ and no more lame excuses about Pres. Kennedy not wanting them there. ] , why was SS protocol broken to allow a 110 degree turn of the lio onto Elm St. from Houston St. ? I could go on and on, but you get the picture. Things just don't add up. I think that the SS was at the very least complicit in the " Big Event ". Check out Vince Palamara's fantastic research into the SS, in the book Survivor's Guilt. It's an eye opener. Peace and goodwill to all, including Mr. Clint Hill. Hold on toLisa for life. She is definitely a keeper.

There are no agents on the limo in the photo of Eisenhower and Nixon either. Seems apparent it was standard procedure at the time. Back then the secret service didn't insist upon certain things to the level they do now.

wayofthinki. Clint hill was coached? God you conspiracy nuts keep making up the wildest stories. LHO killed two people that day with two different guns ( both his) in two different places and fled both scenes. Quite a busy day at the book depository for him.

Clint Hill & the other agents r commended. They did their best. He was in a dangerous position as they all were. He recalls everything to a T. It seems he doesnt have much of a neck & looks downward a lot. Maybe a birth defect. I didnt hear him say he had a wife or children...so he must have dedicated his life to his job. He seems so alert & on the ball. He was totally dedicated to Jaqueline Kennedy. I think he felt guilty for not taking those bullets himself which probably ate at him. Wish he had someone to let it all out to. God be with him he found peace. Looks like he passed at 87 years old. He led a very interesting life. Wish we had a coherent pres now but we dont. He has to read his speeches off a teleprompter & stays confused...where r all the good guys like Clint these days? Sure not in the WH now. Dont think any of them would want to take a bullet for him...our country is in trouble now. U dazzle Clint.
