I want to know how do you compare it to the new Tamron 28-200mm f2.8-5.6 Di III RXD (model A071)which doesn't have OSS, will you review that one?

Great info and a straight up review. I shoot doc-style video and dove into primes but feel they seriously stifle capability for live-in-the-moment capture-the-action run-n-gun shooting. Thanks for sharing your input and opinions. 🙏

I have had this lens for several years, shooting on an A7R3. It works well for run and gun style of photography where a shot needs to be taken within seconds due to changing light, moving wildlife, moving focal point in the composition (e.g. car, human, etc.). I have tried prime lenses for this purpose and they just don't have the desired versatility. If I have a scene that is not changing I would definitely want to use a higher quality lens and maybe even a tripod. However, the vast majority of my photographs are not planned out and are very spur of the moment, so having a jack of all trades is highly beneficial, even if the compromise is some loss of image quality. It should also be noted that with advancements in editing software, the relative image quality discrepancies are being reduced.

Ryan nice video, I have the 6300 Do you think this lens would be ok with the crop sensor. I have the sigma 16mm 1.4 witch is super sharp also Sony 50mm 1.8.

I love this lens for the range, perfect for daily run and gun vlog or travel. I have no complaint about the sharpness, did some test against prime lenses it's definitely decent, you can't see much difference without zoom all the way in to pixel peeping. I do find it having a difficult time to focus in low light situation though, the low light isn't that great but it's fine for what I do most of the time, considering to get A7s for low light usage maybe :)

great review, i am purchasing this lens even with bad reviews. I want an All-In-one travel lens, for me, the important travelling is to capture moments that's the meaning of photography for me. And with this lens i can capture nice wide landscapes at 24mm and super telephoto at 240mm even 360mm if i use the crop mode. Insane range 24-360 with good quality even if it is not the best. For professional work i use my Tamron 28-75mm, for travel i think this lens is a no brainer

This lens is "dont think that much, live the moment and shoot some great photos" type of lens. Best for travels, non formal events, to capture far away stuff. Thanks for review.

Have you used the Tamron 35-150. If so how would you compare the two? I'm also looking at the Tamron 28-200. Any suggestions?

I noticed too much noise in all the photos and shots with this lens. Am I wrong ? I would choose the 24-105mm it gives sharper photos with much less noise

Is it good for bird photography? I'll be shooting at 200+mm always so the wide end doesn't matter.
