Bernie Sanders When you try to kill off capitalism, kids can't get jobs. You want to support the Corporate fortune 500 who take their manufacturing overseas because Unions make too high of a demand. Let the people be free to run a business without government interference, over taxation, over regulation! Union free works for me.

John Galt Your defense of practices that not only rob this country of jobs to export them to regions of slave labor and lax (or no) labor laws to defend the profit margins of the multinationals is not only believably ignorant and aristocratic, but is also ultimately anti-humanitarian and destructive to ALL parties in the long-run _except_ those owning these firms and profiting from this arrangement.

Social security is actually one of the easiest problems to solve. There is an arbitary cap so that the super rich don't have to pay as much as the formula used says they should. If you remove that cap then it's pretty much impossible for social security to ever run out of money.

The DirtyLou Channel I find it really hard to "vote for democrats" when talking about a blanket voting habit. It seems that most politicians will say whatever it takes to get them elected and I don't trust them. If more actually acted on what they campaigned on I'd be much more apt to vote along party lines. As it stands right now, the 2 party system in the US is one of many flaws with the USA's political system.

@ShaxOfThirtyLegions9 жыл бұрын
ThePolarSunlight How/What do you disagree with as his solutions? I don't know if you mean the issues in this video, but his tax the rich proposal makes a damn good amount of sense. The top 10% paid 91% of tax revenue in the years when America was the most prosperous, the 50s, 60s and until the late 70s. Now, the top 10% pays about 35% or even less in tax revenue, that's about the same rate (35%) that an average working class family pays in their taxes. The money goes to them rather than going to the majority of Americans who need it for education, healthcare, and employment. How is that a fair system and fair economy, how is that a sustainable economy for a country?
@ThePolarSunlight9 жыл бұрын
ShaxOfThirtyLegions Tax rates should be the same across the board. Successful people should not be punished for being successful. Now if you want to argue about the amount of money some "rich" people make, that is an argument for another time.

I've noticed that the one thing that has your opponents worried the most is...they can't get you off topic...ALL the others do not want to talk about the issues that "the people" want to discuss. You are the one to keep it on topic. Donald and all the others are only trying to control the topic of conversation.....keep it up Bernie......If you can constantly make speeches to the Senate when they appear to be ignoring you. Judging from the constantly empty rooms, and keep the important topics at the forefront, then I'm am sure we can keep the conversation on the topics and issues that are important. Everyone else is nothing more than a diversionary tactic (probably from Koch land) to get you off the topics they (including Hilary) don't want you to talk about. They want a conversation that keeps the norm....minor change at best. I feel an earthquake for the people coming our way. Great speech!

I have a question though. We bring out these statistics regarding many ethnic groups from 17-20 being unemployed, but why is that? Could it be that the minimum wage is forcing companies to opt towards older unemployed workers? In Connecticut, my uncle runs a business, and he opts towards hiring seniors who are unemployed for the minimum wage instead of teenagers because the teenagers that signed up were not even capable of writing. One could blame this on improper education, but these are students between the ages of 17-20 who were REFERRED by a GUIDANCE COUNSELOR. Meaning they're still in school. But I wonder how you fix an issue as catastrophic as this. Do you invent two different minimum wages? Then the people, supposedly, will be dissatisfied? Where do we pay for the education reform, and what exactly do we reform? To not know how to write - that's not a monetary issue, that's a who the hell allows these teachers to keep teaching Pre-K and Kindergarten issue! Here in the state of New Jersey, these people are immune, more or less, due to our Tenure policy. And obviously, these kids aren't flunking in other states; they're being pushed right along. I love what you have to say, Bernie, and listening is always a pleasure and an enlightening experience, but someone needs to explain to me the steps we need to take. Saying that we're going to reform is one thing, and it's a marvelous first step, believe me. But I need someone to fill me on what the next steps will be. I've heard the stats, Bernie, and I've heard you pour your heart out. Now tell me what we need to do and you'll have my vote.

with this election, i truly know now, the incredible awkwardness of talking about politics and government to others. I am always trying to veer the conversations with anyone about anything to the problems that we have in this country. It truly is a daunting task with the majority of people being corporate mass media zombies, they get most of their info from the sources that are essentially against their best interests and have no interest informing the public of the greater picture. I'm British but I think Sanders is brilliant. Americans please for good of your own people and the good of the rest of the world vote him in. American society, as is Britain's, is in the grip of a Oligarchy backed right wing media, which is undermining middle and working class rights and income in favour of corporations and a tiny wealthy elite. For decades now the benefits and rights our grand parents and those before them fought so hard for are being stamped on by our governments and their corporate backers. Whether it be by squeezing real wages, social welfare cuts, poorer healthcare or the undermining of public institutions in favour of private investors.
