***** Corporate Socialism I agree, if Capitalism works the central government shouldn't have to intervene on behalf of corporations that are deemed "too big to fail". The welfare that corporations get in the US is astonishingly enormous compared to social welfare.
@TheNicolocomd9 жыл бұрын
True, the main reason being that multinational corporations can avoid taxes by going overseas. The TPP is one of those agreements that hurts American jobs, the US entered into this agreement and Obama was all for it because it would impose labor laws on many companies with factories in the asian pacific. Bernie has spoken on the trend he's observed that when taxes were higher for the rich there was greater growth in the US. The idea would be that through an increase in tax revenue for the country that resource can be put to creating jobs for Americans. His biggest push and the central statement for his campaign is that Americans have had enough of Corporations controlling government. It is not a mystery that Campaign budgets in this country are the elephant in the room, and whoever pays for those campaigns just like Mr. Trump said has to answer to those donors. Bernie has spoke out against such practice and donors such as the Koch brothers. Even overall Americans pay among the lowest income tax rates, other countries such scandinavian countries (Bernie uses these as an example often) have close to 50% income tax if not higher. The trade off is that education, health, and other widely needed services are paid by taxes. In the US there are far too many instances where government funded programs are run through private corporations that end up soaking up Tax-payer's money and abuse the contracts they get from the government look up Halliburton. I really stand with Bernie and his movement to rid the US of a corporation run government.

I think it has alot to do with American's being told since childhood that "America is the greatest country ever!" And also I think it was 80% of American's have never been outside of their own country so they have never seen how other countries work. I believe many American's think that every other country looks like the poorest places in Africa, which is sad since even the poorest places in Africa look alot better than the best places in Detroit.

He was the People’s CLEAR choice in both 2016 and 2020, it was so sad that the corporate democrats cheated to eliminate him. It was a coordinated effort with Obama, Clyburn, the corrupt media, and Booty-Judge’s “shadow app”. They’d far rather lose to GOP than allow Bernie to get elected, and they do nothing but wring their hands and pout while capitulating to the idiots in the GOP every time.

People have poor understanding of how economics work in the long term. Long term increasing Income inequality is not something based on people being 'lazy' it's not something based on 'luck' or 'hard work'. It's a monopoly, it's the final consequence of complete unregulated and corrupt capitalism. Rather we like it or not, we do live in a shared economy, everyone who works produces something, and when production rates are high, the country gets rich. Now US is a rich nation, yet has a massive amount of people living in poverty, working many jobs, getting educated but finding themselves unable to advance up. Where is all this money? That's when the monopoly comes in, take a look at all the companies you see around in every town, in every state, and track them back to their original owner. You'll come to find that almost all major businesses are owned by the same few people and corporations. They are taking ALL the wealth of the nation to themselves, just a few people, and due to their enormous wealth, they can make it impossible for other smaller businesses to compete with them. Whenever competition arises, they buy them out or crush them, and then continue to profit. They are now the choosers of who gets to advance up and who doesn't, they choose what wages they pay you, and they have decided to keep paying less and less, so that they can earn more and more. The truth is, without any regulation, the numbers will keep tilting to their side, until the day comes that they have 90% of all wealth, and they are paying your kids and the former 'middle class' whatever slave wages they choose to. Simply because they know that no one has a choice or a say. They, are the new Royal family, they are the new system of hierarchy. A monopoly on wealth and control are the reason people fled the UK and founded America, a land that promised freedom for everyone to make it out of poverty and enjoy the security of a Middle Class life, and now America is becoming just as bad and in many ways worse, because the public refuses to acknowledge this consequence. Being deluded to thinking, that if they keep supporting this system, somehow they'll end up in the higher percentage, well the odds are slim to none and you are sacrificing the opportunity of your children to ever be able to enjoy middle class life. You are selling the future generation to poverty, under the illusion that someone on the top, will maybe someday throw you a good bone if you just 'work hard' enough.

Scott Haskin I don't know what "the democrats" tell you, but just the way you phrased that question tells me you've been watching too many US news stations. It's easy for the people in power to stay in power, because the American citizens are too busy suing and arguing with each other. It seems like your political parties spend more effort trying to prevent the other party being able to do anything, than they do actually working to make things better. The media has twisted American's view of politics so much that you guys actually hate each other for having different political views. Republicans talk about liberals like they are the scum of the earth, and vice versa It's no wonder America is going to shit, you guys seem to be incapable of working together.

TRUTH from Senator Sanders about the shameful income inequality in the USA! But will the American people listen? Will the Big Interests get out there and try to silence him? Is there any BIG MONEY out there who will support Senator Sanders because they believe he tells hard truths that The American People need to hear? Will they step up? .

@danunderwood62409 жыл бұрын
Medovukha then you should like Bernie because he voted against TPP and NAFTA. Check his record.
@danunderwood62409 жыл бұрын
Medovukha so your biggest issue is keeping the murder rate up. guns do not fight crime. what will help the crime rate is getting the poor and middle class more opportunity to take care of themselves and their families. Guns shouldn't even be a priority in a country with the highest murder rate per capita of any advanced democratic nation.
@danunderwood62409 жыл бұрын
Medovukha We don't fight the mass murder rate in this country by advocating for more guns and being a talking head of the NRA. There are bigger problems we must face in this country than arming the populace to the teeth. We attack the real ills that face this nation ( and no losing second amendment rights is not among them) then we strike down most of the causes of crime in this county. Why don't you focus on real issues instead of your backwards inbred mentality? You people are morons.

@lindsayschutz4 жыл бұрын
Cara Crabtree I put $25 a week from my check each week into my savings account and it's already been used to: 1. Make several payments on my major credit card so that I make a tiny dent in the balance (I use my credit card to pay for things like groceries to get the rewards and also because usually by the time my paycheck is deposited every week and clears my account, it's already used to pay bills) and reduce the interest that's killing me. 2. Cover an overdraft that happened because my payment for the electric bill and 2 credit card bills all happened to hit my account the day before my paycheck did (granted, that was my fault because I should've kept better track of that stuff). 3. It will be used to settle my $346 tax bill this year (I owed money when I filed my taxes because my income was higher than I planned on when I got my health insurance on the exchange) - actually, that's the reason I started saving money in that account anyways; so I'd have enough to cover my tax bill without putting it on my credit card.

+Hyperionsf He has put out an economic policy in the Senate reports. I suggest that you give it a gander.
@josephmocol17028 жыл бұрын
Hyperionsf You do understand that the Wall Street Journal's piece on Sander's legislation was disingenuous at best. www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/wp/2015/09/15/no-bernie-sanders-is-not-going-to-bankrupt-america-to-the-tune-of-18-trillion/ usuncut.com/politics/top-economist-says-bernies-plan-will-actually-save-the-us-5-trillion/ www.thenation.com/article/what-the-wall-street-journal-gets-totally-wrong-about-bernie-sanders-agenda/ You see, what you failed to recognize from the WSJ is three things. 1. The cost bore by taxpayers in Mr. Sander's programs will actually shift from private industry to public works. Instead of paying 1000 dollars a year for health insurance, the 1000 dollars will go to tax payer money, which then you will not be forced to pay deductibles or costs for hospitals, EMTs, or so-called "experimental treatments". 2. The 1000 dollars mentioned above will not be increased in the middle class or working class. Instead there will be a small cost analysis on taxing Wall Street computerized trading, which could potential provide trillions in funding. And mind you this is just from a "small" tax, something in the range of 10% or 15%. 3. This is the most important. The WSJ is owned by Rupert Murdoch, the very same Murdoch that owns Fox News Channel and several Tory tabloids in Britain. The click-bait title is extremely tempting and very little thought was put into fact finding the exact numbers and the ways Mr. Sanders plans to pay for these programs. Furthermore the cost initiative proposed by Mr. Sanders is expected to save the US 5 trillion over ten years, something which the WSJ fails to account for. In the future I would recommend you actually research the debate at hand, instead of relying on a click-bait title with very vague information on how it got to those numbers.

The GOP has failed us, who sought for smaller government and tax breaks for millionaires, effectively eviscerating regulation that allows businesses to become corrupt. Big business failed us. They've seduced and bribed politicians to create laws in their favor and remove regulation that would interfere with their profit making and allowed them to save money by employing people overseas.

Bernie is the only Presidential Candidate who is talking about real problems and proposing practical solutions. He's also the only presidential candidate who isn't taking money from the billionaire class. Bernie 2016!!! Feel the Bern!!!

Truth. Thank you sir Bernie Sanders. ❤️ After 7 years, he still speaks the truth. Corporations greed are real. Corporations got huge chunk of Cake, the people only eat the leftovers.

this is why we need to be a part of what Bernie Sanders is preaching. He cannot do it alone we need to talk about the issue with everyone wiling to listen as you go about your day. these are crucial times.

The American dream is not gone... it's just that it narrowed tremendously to a few people. The top 1% is "living the dream," and the rest of us are "living the pain." This is the inherent destiny of a capitalist system that remains largely UNREGULATED. Yes, we want a system that rewards people for working hard and making smart decisions. But, if you are handicapped from upward mobility due to a broken educational system (far too expensive), corporations that seek to employ workers overseas, and an unbalanced tax system that can't get sufficient funds for a proper infrastructure, the dream will remain with the top 1%.

It makes me wonder where this is all headed. Greed is building and people are under more and more stress. With automation coming in to take jobs, corporations are going to rake large sums of money. I wish there was a way to turn this all around, because I do not think our rich politicians will. Are we slowly turning into a third world country?

Please talk more about Public Banks and Worker Owned Companies. They are 2 steps toward empowering communities to be able to take care of themselves. And I sure hope that the people will demand and end to corporate imperialism abroad which is about all our bloated war machine protects while society reaps what has been sown overseas.

I'll tell you what happened. It's called "Housing Discrimination." Not to mention the" economic wealth gap" Also, "Property Tax" that goes up every year because people are too greedy. Unfortunately, most Americans 🇺🇸 waste too much time on "Racism" to focus on things that's really important in this country. So forget the "American Dream". It's nothing but a nightmare anyways.
