Hey all - thought we'd see what introverts can potentially learn from extroverts - please feel free to share your own experiences and advice! We'll be doing "what an extrovert can learn from an introvert" next ;)

I'm an introvert and comfortable in my skin. Introverts are called loners for a reason. For me, I have no problem being alone because I never feel lonely. I definitely do not need people for energy. Great video! Loved it.

Hey, here is a tip for starting a conversation with someone from a fellow extrovert. Ask them for recomendations of things they could be passionate about. For example a employee at a record store will most likely love to chat about their favorite artist/genre. A person you met at a rave could give you names of other parties/ clubs and why they liked / disliked them. In general people like to help and share their interest:)

I’m Brazilian and an introvert and that’s quite a struggle 😂 my culture is made for the extroverts to thrive. When I went to Europe I felt at peace because I could just be silent and never speak, and no one would point that out 😅 maybe Alexis would like it here, I know for a fact that Brazilians would LOVE her energy.

This is exactly what I want!! I wish there was community of extroverts who teach us introvert how they would react to different situations that we introvert find awkward

As an introvert, I think the example Lilian brought to the table (the writing session) relatable. I'm currently finishing my degree, and one of my professors suggest I should join a research group. So I could get more familiar with some people going through the same process I am in right now. I know that's a brilliant idea and I will be benefited from something like that, but I'm overthinking this. What if they ask me something? What if I say something silly? What if I don't know enough to be there? And more questions that are making this hard. I just hope I end up showing up. And then see how everything goes, but I'm scared. 🥺

There's an excellent book about phenomen of introverts. It's called Quiet by Susan Cain. It explains why people different and makes you appreciate your introversion.

My favorite video so far (granted, I've not seen all your videos)! The topic was interesting. The portrayal of Lillian's introvert self at the meet-up was hilarious (my introvert self totally related). I liked the educational brain study slide--look at all that dopamine the extroverts get! As a fellow introvert, I would say the biggest challenge in applying extrovert methods is to care enough to do so 😅 - it's not shyness or hesitation, very often we simply don't give a damn about the people around us to waste the energy on complimenting their outfit or coming up to chat ;)

As an introvert who is also sometimes shy, I look for someone in a social situation that is also an introvert, it is easier to start a discussion that way.

I enjoy what I can learn from others. I often think people have a gift and when you talk to them for a reason this is revealed In conversation. Ie a lesson or hint to follow and same for them....

Your good news of the day: after 5+ years international long distance, my partner and I finally closed the distance a few months ago. Thank you for giving representation of a queer couple who got through it, I have so much love for you both! Also, would 1000% read a book by you, Lilian. :) My partner is the extrovert and I’m the introvert, and we always seem to find ourselves drawn to the opposite. Do you two do the same, or are you more attracted to similar energy?

I'm an extrovert but feel highly uncomfortable in situations where I "have" to talk to people. Lillian's example of the mingle time at the workshop resonated with me because having to chat with people when it's not spontaneous is very difficult for me.

same as Lilian, my brain has gone through 20 different scenarios of how the conversation could go, most of them negative, and I talk myself right out of talking. i've genuinely been considering picking up some books to help me learn how to get around this because once you're into your 30s it really isn't fun anymore :( introversion is great because we're very self sufficient and fine on our own for the most part but I think we all have a bit of extrovert envy.

You both are complimentary to each.

I am 50/50 introvert/extrovert and I'm oK with both. Age helps ;-) Lillian I've noticed you do most of the talking on the videos, so are you SURE you're a full on introvert? Maybe it's situational?

Thanks for the video! 😉 Sometimes those two (an introvert and an extrovert) live inside you at the same time. You can become more extroverted over the time, that's what happened to me🙃 It's difficult for the new people to believe that I was completely another kind of person a while back🙈 However, it depends much on your today's mood, sometimes you just need to have your 'cave-time' even if you enjoy being around people :) P.s. but still I can relate to Lilian, overthinking is a part of me🤪 P.s.2 found out in the comments there are also ambiverts! Haha given my complete lack of social life I must be the most introverted person ever... and that's weird because I have no problem chatting people up, when given the chance. Perhaps then I am an extrovert exiled in London.

I’m mostly an introvert, but when I do go into public settings, I become extroverted for that time. I think if I told people I was more shy and introverted, they would not believe me. Btw Lillian, you always make me laugh, so yeah, you are funny and do have a good sense of humour. Lol

I'm from Eastern Europe (Latvia) everyone is introverted here, and even extroverts do not talk, smile, etc. that much:))))) But I have experienced that there is some discrimination against introverts - introverts always are "made/encouraged" to overcome their comfort zone, but extroverts never - by sometimes not bothering people and maybe not talking to people at all. Extroverts often do not feel necessary to "read the room", they just are filling it up with themselves! But I guess it depends on the culture, in the west it is better to be extroverted, but in the east, it might be seen as rude and impolite! Can you, please, show some NY LGBTQ things? What is your book about? Thanks!

Congratulations to RRR for winning oscar these days the Indian cinema has evolved 1) Recently I saw the film Gulmohar (2023) and it was 150% of Banshees of Inisherin (2022). Gulmohar had a lesbian couple. 2) Then I saw Telugu film Awe (2018) it was 80% of Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022). In Awe (2018) There was a lesbian couple in the imagination of Kaajal Agarwal. 3) Then I saw a webseries called Little Things, it reminded me of 1970s Woody Allen films. The writing, humor and acting of Dhruv Sehgal was just like Woody Allen.
