You have put so much thought into everything on ur channel - it's name, title of the videos, etc. It's always nice to meet such insightful people with such attractive minds and those who are always humble enough to correct themselves, coz we r humans and humans make mistakes. Plz keep sharing these intellectual and serene thoughts❤Also what is this place with such a beautiful nature?

I really resonated with the message conveyed. Lately, I've been contemplating the statement "be like water." Initially, this might seem counterintuitive to your idea, but as you said, we have to continually question our thoughts, beliefs, and update them if needed. The same goes for water: in a way, it shapeshifts depending on its circumstances (though the locus of control is more external). However, realizing that we don't have to cling to our old visions is actually so liberating because we don't need to be who we once thought we ought to be. We can rebrand ourselves anytime and change our identity if we really want to, which is, to an extent, the key element of growth. Therefore, when to define is to limit, an unexamined life means to be trapped by one's own definitions.

Congratulations. One year on YT and closing in on 100k. I appreciate how you elucidate so calmly and reasonably…and quite concisely. That takes a lot of preparation. It is clear that you have made these concepts your own, and that adds authenticity. Good stuff❤.

I appreciate your video. I just found out about your channel and you discuss topics that have been on the back of my mind in the last few years. This idea of the examined life being one of them. I appreciate your candor and calm manner of presenting yourself.

through examining our life we are able to see the true richness of our being. that gives depth to the hollow shell of flesh and bones. (flesh) being the what we are, and (bones) being who we are. and after knowing the meaning of (flesh) and (bones) we finally can become one.

I think that "an unexamined life" means not challenging yourself - not only intellectually, or cognitively but physically, such as traveling or taking on new sports. Similarly an examined life means finding what you can do, what your limits are. It is similar to what you said, in that it is finding what you like and don't like, what your values and opinions are.

Is it possible to not feel pride and joy in a major change in your views, without it being in an arrogant or immature manner? Not because it made you realize you were wrong, but because of how it changed your character and personality for the worse. I hate using this term, and it hurts my ego to acknowledge this, but I had a traumatic experience in January. Ever since then, I carry a lot of negativity. I've become gloomy and I don't trust people anymore, even though that's not who I want to be. Before the events that took place earlier this year, I was cheerful, extroverted and capable of trusting others. I want to go back to that, but I can't erase my memories from everything that happened.

I love this stuff. Thinking of myself the last year I went from a conservative to a Marxist. Quite the political journey. Very frustrated with friends who’ve held the same position now for seemingly 12 years

I'd have to disagree with the title and with Socrates. An unexamined life is just as much worth living. Examining life or our thoughts and opinions can help or understanding, sure, but I don't see how they would impact the value in living.
@Marsh462033 ай бұрын
That's because most of what we do isn't what we really want to do Or at least chose to do.. What we saw happening in the surroundings in the world in society .. All the actions and thoughts truths and lies .. All of that has been fed to us and this isn't to say every thing about it is wrong. No. But as a human who's got the capacity to think there is so much about life and different perspectives that can be learnt out it's not always about having something fruitful in return thag you can see physically sometimes it's just the knowledge.. But again not everyone is inclined towards to it and that's again having a different perspective of ignorance is bliss..again No side is wrong

I would respond saying that sure, It’s not like humans without examined lives should just be taken out back and hit in the head. But… to your own personal self, I find it hard to imagine that thinking about your life does not add value to it. Meaning is value, change over time is value, and knowing yourself is value. Maybe it’s a paradox because a person who has not examined their life would not be able to be aware of the value they are missing out on.

Then why are you subscribed to this channel ? Lol. That is so contradicting. Also your comments on this channel seem to be more negative looks like you need to examine your life more than anyone here 😬 if you’re a miserable person you need to know why and fix that. Not just on a surface level. Miserable people will have a low quality life. If you want that, okay, continue. But don’t complain then because you’re choosing not to fix it.
