I'm going to make some to sell but I always use the small headed deck screws on my projects so they can't fall apart. Little longer to build but will last a lifetime !!

Karen, don’t build one like this FFS.. you’ll end up injured. The tiny brads used in this with zero glue holds means this will fall apart quicker than an Ikea product that you forgot to put the screws in.

Hey I get the idea, it's way easy for a youtube video and he can reuse the wood! Actually the design is looking good, so if you throw some PU glue and some screws at it, it's sure af gonna be a sturdy bench if it holds on pins! Also, in case you also missed this, OP can reuse the wood for other projects :)
@stephenstrader1577

Those are literally pin nails… meant to be used for light trimwork installation (ie crown molding on cabinetry only, trimwork outside corners, etc). Those little nails are NOT AT ALL made to withstand the elements or being embedded in the pressure/chemical-treated wood that he was building with… they’ll rapidly disintegrate to nothing. They look decent though!
@austen9556
@austen9556 Жыл бұрын
@@stephenstrader1577 that woods not pressure treated and all tho I wouldn’t use finishing nails to build that there’s only one part that’s structural and it’s held together with screws the part that supports the seat

Only $1250, limited time offer! Now if only it was fastened together right, or if the customer knew it wasn't. But otherwise, nice design, and have fun pulling out the pins once it's fallen apart! That's still usable if you're patient with the pins, so it's like, re-recyclable, lol

That whole set up is going to be trash in a few years. Wood glue would've helped keep a tighter bond in conjunction with the nails. A finish on it would've helped protect it from weather. Seeing as it's an outside display, that wood is going to tarnish fast as hell, and it'll warp. I'm not a professional or anything, but from the experience I do have, I can say those tiny nails aren't going to do the job long term.
