I get what you mean about the price of clips... Surprisingly, Mercedes main dealer prices aren't too bad, with most clips averaging a dollar or 2 (UK equivalent...), and it's great how much is actually still available for older cars. However, there is one clip that goes on the side skirts on my W208 CLK that is like, 15 bucks (9-10 quid UK), which is kinda ridiculous as it's so, so similar to the ones that cost a dollar!! And I need 8 of the buggers!!

Totalling cars because the delay for parts versus extended rental car payment for the owner doesn't economically work for the insurance company. Who would have thought!

I moved that emissions sticker (no VIN but sequential build number)on a 2014 Cruze rebuild. The county cop inspector accused my brother of rebranding while accusing him of a felony. Luckily it was a team of two, and the calmer cop talked dickhead cop down. My brother peeled the #’s matching sticker off, and he got his paperwork signed.

I like the series on repairing these RDX's along with the Pontiacs you rebuilt before this. Can't wait to see what's next!

That was a great build. I had a similar issue with my 2008 Lexus IS250. It has very low miles and the insurance company total lossed mine because a slight indentation in the pillar that supports the door like in this build.

That is a beauty and actually better than new as it was rebuilt buy a master! Nice job, lucky girl!

I buy the harbor fright box selection of clips and it's always amazing that you ones that you need are only two/ three and it's says 200 in box and the odd ball ones are the packaged about 30 to a slot and you will never need them..

All i know: im borderline ready to quit my job thats a different state because my car had less damage then i think this one did and seems like nobody wanta to help me get into another car fairly quick --my mind is presently fubar and what drivable that will last 6-8 months while mine gets repaired by us (tho right now im tempted to PROPERLY total it because my mind!) Can be found for 2k or less?! Living and working in different states SUCKS and ive been dealing with this mess snd insurances lies sence the 6th! (Insurance REFUSED to take it to the shop of *my* choice for a second opinion!! Instead seemed to think they knew better then any shop!! Took it to one that leaves the gate WIDE open at nighr! Because THATS secure!!)

I remember a big accident repair job that didn't replace the steering rack tie rod. Turns out the accident force partially fractured it. Within a week of the car being back on the road, the tie rod failed and the car was written off. Lesson learned. Good job on this one, thank you.

Some prices are stupid like those platinum plated clips. Reminds me of having to pay $15 for a genuine Mitsubishi 0-ring because it was a special size not available anywhere else.

I feel the pain. I don't have the car flipping budget you do, but got a cheap Subaru Forester to fix up, do a little paint, and mechanical work, but my mom ended up stealing it. Two years in and no complaints from her.

Tip There are cheap flexible plastic cutting boards you can find in most grocery and dollar stores, These are extremely useful for various uses in an auto body shop. Apart from using as mixing plates for all the various glues and fillers they are very handy for keeping the glue tape on emblems etc safe for long term storage. You can also cut them up for various purposes including templates and spray masks.

Gotta say thanks for feeding the sea turtles. I love them. I just wish US Fish and Wildlife officers wouldn't get so uptight when someone tries to turn me in for putting them in my soup. I also love how you look out for the next guy. Removing things that were installed with red loctite is character building.

Just a friendly tip for window tint if you want to strip it off the glass easier if you got some thin plastic kind of like that's the thickness of window tint cut some of that to the shape of the window spray some soapy water on it put it on the inside of the window and park it in the sun the heat will help melt it off the window and then you just rip it off and wipe off the glue makes work a lot easier

Some how,I figured that was the "Problem" with this ride.Well,ya gotta keep her happy right? Btw I recall from my early years as a Honda MC mechanic,some parts only came in quantities of ten.And if the dealerxhip didn't want to get stuck with 9 obscure bolts/nuts/washers whatever,you had to buy all ten.Maybe Honda doesn't sell stuff in quantites like that anymore. Great looking ride also BTW....

Hey Scott, NOT a hater! When I heard you tell the stalactite/stalagmite bit I had to chime in. My grade 8 geography teach taught me how to remember and I have never forgotten... Stalactites "C", hang from above, like teats, and they laCtate, stalagmites "G", think of the staG, they stand up from below. Thought it was amusing in grade, but never forgot...

Tip Instead of counting turns when changing tie rods and similar try this. Turn the wheel all the way to its stop pick a suitable point and measure with a tape or anything handy the distance from that point to the centre point of the tie rod. This can be more accurate and easier as not all tie rods are made equal.

Didn't know you could tint a windshield. If you had one here in Texas the DPS would pull you over instantly. And the SUV looks great.

I have a 2016 RDX V-6 with 93k and it is still tight and drives like a new one. Basic maintenance and not another wrench on it! I wouldn’t trade for a new one. I’ve been VERY pleased with it.

Great channel and I really admire your work....but can you please share a tip on how to tighten a subaru bumper? I recently took bumper off and no matter what I do, the gap in between bumper and fenders is just too big.

@vehcor what was the reason you didn’t switch the computers in the seats instead of the seatback and cover? I have a 2023 Tahoe and I’m wondering if I can just switch the computers under the seats and save my self some time and headache. Please advise
