I'd like to see all the other poor financial decisions the owner of this car has made. It reminds me of this kid I used to know. He had like a 1999 SN95 V6 Mustang that he had totaled like 4 times, bought it back from insurance every single time, and had somewhere in the neighborhood of 130 grand into rebuilding this car 4 times. A car that was worth maybe 3000 dollars without a branded title. I really bursted his bubble when I told him that his car wasn't worth much more than scrap. He seriously thought that having 130k into it meant he had a 130k dollar car.

I think I would have probably removed the radiator for this job, looks like it would have made manuvering a lot easier around the turbo and cat. The coolant system was already opened for the turbo replacement, so, I don't think it would be that much more work to pull the radiator. Then again I'm 6'7" 325 so I need all the space I can get to work in.

You Forgot the Intake, they usually die about 85k, i was told. mine all happened at 73k, changed the same parts you did, then shortly there after had to change the intake, so much crankcase pressure it was pushing oil out the front main seal so bad it threw the belt

I enjoyed your video on that. I have a 2012 Cruze, bought brand new with 147,000, with its original turbo. The things I've change were the coil ( twice ) the thermostat housing and the head gasket. I love this car and I'm going to do a preventative maintenance and buy a new turbo. I change the oil when it calls for it and it probably will outlast me. thank you for the inspiration.

Curious. Would it have been worth removing the fan for a little more access? I always find myself wondering how much extra work is worth doing for a bit more room. edit: punctuation matters. Let's eat(,) grandma.

This doctoring crap should be illegal. It is such a colossal waste of time and resources, and basically a scam. If you're gonna fix it, you might as well do it right, and sell it for what its actually worth.

I realized how much I've missed your channel (along with your wit) when this video popped up on my feed. It's like an old friend dropped by for a visit... and you know how annoying that can be. All kidding aside (well, most of the kidding anyway), I'm glad to see you again, and I hope everything is going according to plan for you. Maybe you could post a short "update" video once in a while so we don't forget our favorite body guy. Or you, whichever comes first.

I have an 2015 Opel Astra Sports Tourer with that same engine (A14NET) and had to swap turbos recently (exhaust manifold was cracked by the dump valve), and I was able to remove it without having to touch the A/C compressor... the coolant line was kind of a pain to remove but not that bad overall...

The plastic coolant outlet can also break on this engine. It broke on my 2015 Buick Encore - no heat light or warning until head was warped - fixing that was a job, especially since there is more room under the Cruze hood than the Encore. This engine is probably OK if you maintain it and ditch the crap plastic parts.

Always have loved how the first generation Cruz looks, too bad they are built cheaply. Had a 2008 Cobalt 2.2 that i had for 10 years and 150k miles, other than normal maintenance i spent less than $250 (front struts because the rears were fine and dry, sway bar endlinks, and valve cover gaskets in that 10 year's). Miss it honestly, but moved on to a Corolla hatchback haha.

The engines on those are pretty good, most issues are turbo, water pump and that plastic coolant pipe out the back of the engine and other minor issues.

If the clutch is fully engaged, how do you start the car without the car moving? If the clutch is engaged, it should be just connected to the wheels and the wheels should spin with the engine.
