That's why Palpatine said that Anakin was going to end up becoming stronger than both of them and that was Yoda near his strongest point with Palpatine going all out during that time too since he didn't need to hold back anymore. Sure Palpatine became stronger as time moved on but so would Anakin, meaning he was going to reach a point where he'd consistently be above Palpatine, Darth Vader could and would never be able to reach that point due to his lost potential. Luke was conflicted until he tapped into the Dark Side and overpowered Darth Vader, the Novelization paints a clearer picture with Luke keeping up with Darth Vader and then saw red and beat him outright.

Said Dyad was said to have power equal to the Chosen One)
