same here I don't get why Macduff does not hallucinate but I can explain the other part of his assumption. So Shakespeare had presented Macbeth as childless because he was inspired by Elizabeth I childless life and because she died recently it had allowed him to explore this theme. So Freud believes that Macbeth can't have children because he killed other parents children such as Macduff children. So since he robbed others from their fatherhood he can't experience it. Have you ever heard the phrase life a circle what you do would come back to you? so it is like that.. Lady Macbeth, on the other hand, can't have children because of her husband deed and also her evil self which asked the spirits to "unsex" her so maybe she was damned and punished via her command. both of them suffer from hallucination and guilty conscience at the end due to them being unnatural and as a punishment for there acts (working with the witches and killing innocent people).
