Kendrick Beef Analysis
Ari Melber is a lawyer and television host on MSNBC with a deep hip hop backbone. Today Big Boy and Ari Melber speak on most recent hip hop beefs with Kendrick Lamar, Drake and others. They also touch on the latests updates on the current Trump trial in New York.
Big Boy and Ari Melber jump RIGHT into the beefs discussion analyzing Meet the Grahams and Not Like Us. How is it that these rap battles are streaming so fast and in quantities that make the diss records hit the charts like a hit record. Does it matter that some of the content in the diss records isn’t verified as true?
Did anyone of us know how much Kendrick Lamar hates Drake? Was the line crossed by putting the children into the beef or are there no rules? How does the phrase “When you’re explaining, you’re losing” apply to this battle between Drake and Kendrick Lamar?
Why is America not enthusiastic about the choices in the 2024 Election? Will jail actually happen in this trial happening in New York?
Ari Melber is here with Big Boy for the BIG Interview and you can find Ari on MSNBC nightly at 6pm ET on “The Beat With Ari Melber.” Ari’s latest visit is a part of our Big Boy 30 Series in 2024. Big Boy is celebrating 30 years in Radio all year long on air and on KZfaq.
The conversation expands to also speak on Kendrick Lamar, 2pac, Notorious BIG, Elon Musk, Katt Williams, Club Shay Shay, Woke Foke, Social Justice, Bruno Mars, J Cole, Jerry Seinfeld, George Costanza, Pusha T, Donald Trump, Joe Biden, Euphoria, DL Hughley, Kanye West, Future, Nobu,
Thanks for watching and joining the conversation. For more clips and highlights, subscribe to all 4 of our BigBoyTV channels.

Ari kinda missed Kendrick's repeated warnings for Drake not to take it there. This cuts against his moral critique of Kendrick "coming down from the mountaintop." Drake invited him there when (1) mentioning Whitney and (2) doubling down on that approach by releasing Family Matters. Drake made his bed.

Yea but if I know someone is pedo and I’m a parent I’m going to report it way before I think about rapping on a record. Otherwise I’m just as guilty.

@@djtrepound2407 Drake is too powerful for that, he's made sexual assault cases go away before. It takes years to build a case against someone like that, reporting it to authorities won't do anything but put a target on your back. Kendrick chose to make a planned strike and expose him in front of the world in a way that can't go away by paying people off. If he had done it sooner, people wouldn't have years of evidence to corroborate Kendrick's claims.

@@GoliathWarfare If someone is so righteous they aren’t sitting on that information, especially another father. It honestly displays how fake both sides are in this battle and no one performer is that powerful to keep this information secret.

@@djtrepound2407 You're assuming Kendrick knew for certain Drake was a pedophile for years. Maybe he just learned the extent of it recently. Drake just signed a 400 mil deal with UMG and the CEO, Lucian Grainge was named in the Diddy sex abuse lawsuit. Some believe Drake was being groomed to set up his own sex trafficking op and maybe that's why Kendrick is choosing to go at Drake now, knowing he'd be sensitive enough to take the bait. Whether that's true or not, if Kendrick just started telling everyone Drake is a pdfile without being able to prove it, no one would believe him and he'd probably be silenced. People are starting to look into him now because of the long history Drake has had of grooming minors and that's probably what Kendrick was counting on. One man can't take on the machine directly without a plan, not even a celebrity.

I think Kdot intentionally left some room for doubt about whether or not Drake had a daughter in the lyrics.. “you lied about your daughter, huh?” Questioning him there instead of stating it like a fact

Fam, it is not bad to hate, it is not bad to disillued people. You choose to be mad at whatever someone says. If you good, then keep stepping. Denying that you hate something, someone, or a situation is lying to yourself.

Drake went after Pharrell Williams. Drake tries to play gangsta. Kendrick went after him (after praying in 6:16) because Drake talked about Whitney in Push Ups. Ari, Drake is a known liar. Kendrick is not. Why is a 37 yo man with a 20 yo in public? Gross.

Mandame you are working so hard to discredit Kendrick. The only reason I think that man said any of these things was because the other man has tried to paint himself as similar to the previous man. He tried to do what he did with all of them other guys from Atlanta. To further push his agenda and pacify us. Even more so with the moral what you may call.

Awww I really respect Ari and his way of sharing the news. But some of his takes here comes off as undermining Kendrick. Its a rap battle, the code is what both sides agree to. And they both agreed to sling mud. So your "moral" hill is yours and yours alone Ari. Im going to keep dancing to this sweet chin music, and I wont pass the aux.

I get what you're saying and I agree. I follow several people who aren't of the culture but truly love it. I've gone easy on them because of the intricacies that I can't expect them to understand. Ari's got intricacies I'll never understand and my Jewish and Israeli friends go easy on me as long as we converse with respect.

Ari said many things smart. Freedom of speech has to be used correctly like if an interview is meant to be funny then label it comedy. And I’ll say to him and everyone don’t hold rappers to a high standard, Drake lied Kendrick lied it’s HipHop different from politics. Today entertainers are held so high cause politicians are failing their job.

In 8 mile it’s the black guy with a huge following and has the OV-I mean “free world” label but he’s not actually from all the things in Detroit like he raps about he goes to private school and “his parents have a nice marriage.” Eminem is a white guy but he’s from there and in the end nobody cares so much about his flaws as they will being misrepresented by someone who separates their art from its origins. Except in 8 mile the white guy is the one who’s culturally tapped in and the black guy is the one emulating the culture for hits and money. I keep hearing a lot of Drake fans talking about it being racism but it’s not even about race it’s about culture and culture wise he’s not Eminem he’s Clarence. *im what the CULTURES feeling* not race

That’s the point that Kendrick was making that I think they missed. What he was calling out was that drakes “blackness” is just as phony as those fake accents he’s always doing. It doesn’t matter that he never spoke on politics, or what his mom looked like. It’s that at the end of the day to him being black is just another role he’s playing
