Hey all - Sorry for not shouting out Team Fortress 2 when talking about hero shooters. Obvious oversight on my part - I even played a lot of TF2, first on 360 then later PC. Much love for the game!

Breath Of The Wild, God of War, Persona 5 and Witcher 3 are my favorite games this gen.

Daemon might be right in general regarding Undertale, but my 10 year old son found it on the Nintendo e-shop and absolutely loves it. He just downloaded and beat Delta Rune on PC this weekend.

I drew in a notebook a musical staff filled with the Mario Paint icons to keep a physical record of a little thing I came up with back when I rented that game. I'd so love to see Mario Paint come out for Switch so I could dig that notebook out and decipher those ancient hieroglyphs of mine and hear what it sounds like!

I think the reason Sam might be thinking "Next Generation" is British is because it's the sister magazine of EDGE which is a British magazine with the same approach - basically the Wired magazine of video games. Also, Future was originally a British company before they expanded into the US. I used to work for them.

Yeah, just for reference. I live in Wisconsin, and the MAX internet available to me, in my area I currently live, is 5 Mb/s...with shared bandwith with neighbors. So, realistically, I can download a maximum of about 1 GB per hour on my Xbox, if nobody else in my house is doing anything online. If I had decided to buy Red Dead digitally, it would have probably taken 4 days to download on my console. So, I am SO SO thankful that the physical copy came with 2 discs. I would gladly pay EXTRA to companies if they were able to put MOST of the game on physical media. I used to play a lot of Elder Scrolls: Online, but they routinely have 10 GB patches and updates. I would probably still be playing that game, but I just got so sick of not being able to play for an entire day. I transitioned onto replaying Skyrim, and I really want to go back. However, I don't even want to know what the new file size is since the latest DLC became free. So, for those who don't have that problem, just think of those that do. As games go more and more into digital only, there are a lot of passionate gamers out there that will get left behind.

Internet in the rest of the US is total crap, you are 100% right about that. I live in a small city in VA and we have only Comcast for cable speed internet. We pay for the high speed of up to 75 GB/s but most days you're lucky to get 30. That's the other real issue. So many smaller areas don't even have the best lines run for actual high speed and if the area doesn't have a large enough population, then they can't justify running new lines to accommodate faster speeds because they will never have enough customers to justify the cost.

GTA 5 is the game of the decade. When I think about game of the decade, it's a mix of high critical acclaim, massive popularity with the public, and it does something to drive the industry forward. GTA 5 is all of those things. It's online mode wrote the book for games like fortnite it's just that the monetization is different. GTA online is constantly updated and supported and this model has been replicated to great success.

On Fallout I think some of the hate was also the talk that it was a Fallout 3 and New vegas remake in the Fallout 4 engine maybe if they do that this year it could get people to forgive them Wait on Rockstar are they not working on Bully 2 sure I heard some artwork leaked or was released out at the end of last year could that be there 2019 game as for streaming and the internet its like that world wide apart from Asia that is why MS would be in massive trouble if they make a streaming box next gen

I'm pretty sure Nintendo will, at some point, upgrade the Switch's Nvidia Tegra X1 architecture to the X2 (which is similar to Xbox One S in terms of capability). Seems like a no-brainer to keep the Switch competiitive in the next generation.

I would like a Bully 2 or Max Payne 4. The third one ended in such a closed manner but I would love to revisit that character. Maybe they could do a game between 2 and 3.

Justin is totally right. I love my Switch but I use it handheld 90% of the time and consider it a portable console that I use at home. I'm not really inclined to upgrade it at this point, but we'll have to see what improvements the new version will have before I make my final purchasing decision.

Just make a Switch "Pro" modeled after the design of the Wii U gamepad and I'd buy it for that great comfort in the hands and the actual D-pad!!

Nintendo should clearly take the plunge and make a full fledged Game Maker. Offer various styles as a basis with assets but as well as have aspects of the experience to create soundtracks and own assets. I used to spend hours and days creating a Mario paint musical master piece! We all want that tool set back! It’s clearly easy to use and deep in its use.

I'm thinking Sony holds a PSX in December where it announces the PS5 for 2020 and has a victory lap for the PS4. I don't think a new Bioshock is certain in any way shape or form - that being said an underground city with lava all around might be the way to go.

I would actually like a Switch console that just hooks up to the TV. I worry the battery and USB-C connections will wear out and then it will be useless.

There is no way steam will be taken down and the main reason is because to many users have a lot invested in it. I have over 200 games and the reason I don't like buying games on other platforms is because I don't like having my games split between multiple launchers it's much more convenient to keep them together unless there's a game exclusive to that service such as ea games and blizzard games

My switch is never docked, I usually just get the game for PS$ if I know I want to play it on a TV. Like Justin I totally look at my switch as a 3DS replacement, that I can wire into my TV like a PSP if I wish.

I consider switch a home console I can take on go . I play prob 70 percent on handheld but I’d rather play docked if I can .

I be fine with Nintendo just making bigger joycons that would still be able to slide in the current switch, I can't imagine it would be that hard to do

I love INSIDE. That is such an incredible game that build a world without saying a single word. Good call on mentioning The Walking Dead Season One; that definitely was a turning point to what the gaming industry would become that made games like INSIDE (and Journey, Shovel Knight, Gris, etc) successes. And speaking of The Walking Dead, Pachter was asked what chance it had of winning game of the year during the Game Awards and he said none. An hour later it won. People need to stop listening to that idiot.
