In This Kadhaipoma With Parveen Sultana program, we have a Writer Jeyamohan, Bahuleyan Jeyamohan is an Indian Tamil and Malayalam language writer and literary critic from Nagercoil in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
His best-known and most critically acclaimed work is Vishnupuram, a fantasy set as a quest through various schools of Indian philosophy and mythology. In 2014, he started his most ambitious work Venmurasu, a modern narration of the epic Mahabharata.
His other well-known novels include Rubber, Pin Thodarum Nizhalin Kural, Kanyakumari, Kaadu, Pani Manidhan, Eazhaam Ulagam and Kotravai. The early major influences in his life have been the humanitarian thinkers Leo Tolstoy and Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Drawing on the strength of his life experiences and extensive travel around India, Jeyamohan is able to re-examine and interpret the essence of India's rich literary and classical traditions.
Born into a Malayali Nair family in the Kanyakumari district that straddles Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Jeyamohan is equally adept in Tamil and Malayalam. However, the bulk of his work has been in Tamil. Jeyamohan's output includes nine novels, ten volumes of short-stories/plays, thirteen literary criticisms, five biographies of writers, six introductions to Indian and Western literature, three volumes on Hindu and Christian philosophy and numerous other translations and collections. He has also written scripts for Malayalam and Tamil movies.

Mr. Jeyamohan is wrong in saying that Thackeray wrote Tess of Dubervilles and Far From the Madding Crowd. Those two novels were written by Thomas Hardy.

எழுத்து எனக்கு பணம் தரவில்லை, எழுத்து எனக்கு புகழ் தரவில்லை. ஜெயமோகன் சார் இது கிடைத்ததில் தங்களுக்கு திருப்தி இல்லாமையின் வெளிப்பாடாக இருக்கவேண்டும். தங்களுக்கு எவ்வளவு தேவையோ அந்த அளவிற்கு பணமும், புகழும் கிடைத்திருப்பதாகவே நான் எண்ணுகிறேன். மேலும் கிடைக்க வாழ்த்துக்கள்.

He started right by mentioning W.M.Thackeray and his "Vanity Fair" novel, but unfortunately mistook to list "Tess of the D' Urbervilles" & "Far From the Madding Crowd" too as Thackeray's, when wished to mention a few more of his novels.

The Universalism Of The Tamils There is a kind of universalism that is prevalent in Tamil literature from very ancient times here including the SumeruTamil period that is the era of the First Tamil SaGkam of the Tamil historians. I have been puzzled by such great clauses like KaNiyan PuuGkunRanaar’s famous “yaathum uuree yaavarung keeLir’ meaning ‘The whole world is my own city and all are my brethren”. Here we have a Sociopolitical Universalism that sees no national and political boundaries as well as the tribal alienations among people. Coming as does from the land of Brahamananical Varnasrama Dharma and the tribal casteism that has led to it, this is immensely surprising. KaNiyanaar lived probably around 200 B.C or so, But in a further development of such universalisms is the 7th Cent Tirumular declaring “OnRee kulamaum oruvaneet teevanum” meaning BEING is One and so are the whole of mankind. This typically Saiva universalism is Metaphysical Universalism that is a product of very profound metaphysical reaches. The Saivite metaphysics even in the times of Tirumular has reached depths that no other Indian groups seems to have reached. This may apply also to the whole world- the various kinds of universalisms in the world does not seem to match the depths of the Tamilian and stands peculiarly unique.

Tamils pioneered in making use of "Animal Navigation" in the early 12th century. It is evident that they observed the nesting patterns of Olive Ridley turtles and had followed them to explore pieces of land even as far as Indonesia. I'm quite unsure if people had used the same or similar methods earlier. Time, Space and Action - the Energy-Mass theories stated by Einstein is believed to be discussed in Tamil Literature earlier than 2 CE. Thozhkaapiyar (தொல்காப்பியர்) introduces முதற்பொருள் and உரிப்பொருள் as the basic components of anything. Many claim that Tholkaapiyam is more about science than it is about the language. Some people even claim that Big Bang Theory has been discussed in Paripaadal. It sounds like an over-hyped interpretation. But it seems reasonable considering their knowledge of astronomy and science. A scene from Pattinappaalai compares a battle scene to Solar system. When the Catholic church was burning people at stake for not believing in Geocentric theory (till 16th Century), Tamils were comparing Solar system on a contextual basis implying that Tamils had already known that the system supported Heliocentric theory Reference to Earth as "அண்டம்" (denotes Spherical shape), and as உலகம் (denotes moving action of the Earth உலவுதல்) shows our advancements in Astronomy.
