Hi, my name is Jen I am 44 and live in Connecticut with my husband and 8 year old son. I am a stay-at-home Mom and full-time KZfaqr with a degree in business with a focus in marketing. Before leaving work when my son was born, I was a commercial lender at a bank. I also worked at Sephora and Macy's doing visual merchandising.
I have dry skin with some hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I love natural makeup looks but occasionally go outside my comfort zone a little bit. I’d say a good majority of us are makeup enthusiasts and not MUAs, so seeing someone just like us doing looks is exactly what we need and you do it perfectly Jen! I think it would be fun to see a survey of everyone’s favorite fall eyeshadow palettes. Maybe that would be fun and we could find out what all the new viewers like, too! I have the Hocus Pocus 1 palette and I love it, so I don’t need the Anastasia palette. Thanks for comparing them, Jen. My FAVORITE palette for fall is the Blend Bunny Cosmetics All Done Up. I also like Huda’s Empowered palette for the fall. I also find myself reaching for the Natasha Denona Bronze and Biba palettes a bit already.

I’m thinking it’s just different skin types between different people. I’m combination skin combo my skin can be very dry so swatches sometimes look bad but sometimes my skin is oily so swatches can come out worse.

Im surprised ABH took their chances with 2 of those "army" (ish) greens in a palette again, after all the drama and backlash with Subculture! Glad to see they are seemingly much better this time around, and no patchiness. Im debating returning my Natasha Denona I Need a Nude palette to Ulta bc although ive only used it twice, Im not loving it the way I thought I would. Its beautiful, but its not $69 beautiful. When I love a palette, i want to use it more than 2x in almost 3 weeks. Maybe I will try this one instead.

I just knew I needed Jen’s opinion before I made my final decision on this one! I tend to gravitate toward one transition shade on a lot of the palettes I end up buying anyway, so I don’t really mind having just one that works for my skin tone

I LOVE Fall and have been in love with the color story from the moment I saw it, and my gut said "BUY!", but just about every review said best for medium to deep skin tones. I honestly felt that with so many light shimmers/metallics/toppers it would still be doable on my fair skin, and your review has confirmed that for me. Going to buy right now! ❤

Yes! I think the shimmers are the key...the mattes can be sheered out easily enough but I don't like dark shimmers. :)

Jen, thanks so much for the comparisons! I rarely purchase high end eye shadows because so often I can get a similar color story at a much better price point without giving up quality. Given that I have the Lust for Dusk palette from Colour Pop (thanks to you actually!) once again, I can save my money! And actually, as someone with very fair skin the LfD palette already feels deep to me so I definitely wouldn't want to go deeper with the ABH. Thanks for saving me from FOMO! I so appreciate all of your immaculate swatches and how careful you are to color match pan by pan as best you can when comparing palettes. It's SO HELPFUL. You are the best!

Oh Jen, I love all three looks and could not pick a favorite. I just got the Maneater purple cover palette by Tarte yesterday. I like the ABH palette but I have most of those you compared the ABH palette to and I think I will play with those. Hi, Jen, I'm fairly new to your channel, although I've been subscribed for awhile. I have a similar skin tone (I'm cool-toned, and the dark end of fair), so it's helpful to see how the colors worked for you. I have always worn mauves then hot pink and purple s and sometimes blue. But always bright. Then recently I don't remember why but I tried some darker more grungy colors and fell in love. Thats all I've been wearing lately. And it really complements me. This palletes exciting to me however I am sadly on a low to no buy. Simply because I have way way more makeup than I'll ever need. I'm very deeply into makeup. I almost bought this anyway until you started swatching it against other palettes. The gather round sisters palette definitely does look similar and what's funny is I only tried that one once and just didn't vibe with it then and put it away into my collection. However now that I'm into dark and smokey and grungy I think I'll dig it back out tomorrow and play!!! Thank you so so so so much because I forgot all about it lol

Thanks, Jen! I thought this palette looked very pretty, but I can't bring myself to spend $50+ on an eyeshadow palette! Thus, I always love your palette comparisons! I thought all the looks you created were great and I would agree - I get bummed when I buy a palette and then end up with all my eye looks basically appearing the same.
