You noticed that Skeen said he would cover his teammate and then let him get shot. Now consider that stopping at the doctor's was his only chance to get away with the money before they go to the delivery point. Someone had to be seriously injured for his plan to work which puts his speech about saving Nemik in an entirely different light. It's also interesting that Cassian at least listened to the offer and didn't shoot until he mentioned not actually having a sibling. You don't say that to a guy with Andor's past and walk away from it.

1) inconclusive because the Imp that shot Taramyn was well outside of Skeen’s firing lines 2) The Doctor was built into the contingency, a resource index and measures compiled by Luthen However, you’re not wrong about Cassian: whether Skeen was testing him or not, he was pushing the wrong buttons on the wrong person, the exact buttons to guarantee getting Briar Pistol’d

Exactly. From the start, you can see signs that Skeen walked a different path from the group. Someone on another reactor channel pointed out that when the rebels walked in trooper formation and turned to halt, Skeen's rifle smacked against Taramyn's because his was the only rifle not facing in the same GD formation as the rest of them, even Taramyn's. Even Cassian pointed this out! Skeen singled out Andor only because he thought that Andor would share the same sentiments as him. Taramyn told Skeen to cover him, and Skeen only fired one cover shot, from a powerful repeater weapon (most likely to keep the number of survivors low on purpose). Skeen was low-key sus from the start.

@@eat_pray_porg8450 bro, Cassian pointed Skeen was left-handed and therefore in formtion should switch position so as to avoid conflicting firing lines; Cassian saw a mechanical problem w/ their tactics, unless you’re trying to argue all left-handed people are traitors and prone to betrayal Furthermore that ‘repeater’ is a DS series rifle and can fire a high yield volley but has to cooldown thereafter

Holy cow the scene w his mom crushed me. She’s so talented. Her performance of getting hope and her saying: “That’s just love. There’s nothing you can do about that.” I gasped, had tears welling up. Amazing show.

One of the most underrated scenes in this and I'd say all of Star Wars. It's where Marva as a character really asserts herself and shows how much of the hero she is.

I’ve seen this series many times now, and I keep coming back to this scene in episode 7 as the absolute heart and soul of the whole series. Fiona Shaw is great, but to be fair so is Diego Luna. The scene hits especially hard on rewatching, when you know it’s the last time they see each other. Sad, ironic, beautiful, so well directed and edited and the music is perfect too. And as for the writing…. Absolutely masterful. “ I won’t have peace.. I’ll be worried about you all the time.” “That’s just love. Nothing you can do about that.” It’s so perfect because it’s so simple .

Remember that admiral who worked with Anakin in the Clone Wars? He's that ISB guy with the mustache who spoke to Palpatine. He's also Thrawn's sensei when he was in the Imperial academy.

FYI, the new imperial that showed off and that said he talked to Palpatine is a guy called yularien. He is from the animated clone wars and rebels, and he showed up in a new hope in the boardroom with all the other officers.

I don't get it. THis episode wasn't filler or a side story. There are major events going on so for me 7 through 10 is all one arc. Not sure why they would say that. It's not like you can just start with episode 8 and be caught up with what's going on without episode 7.

@@artboymoy Because that’s the way the show runners described it. It’s not “filler,” but it’s meant to stand alone and bridge the heist arc with the next one.

@@artboymoy it does bridge the heist arc with the labor prison arc; the fact that 7 itself is not of an succinct arc makes it stand alone, but not like just some adventure of the week you can shove anywhere into the season order etc like TV used to write

He wasn't testing Cassian. He told him he was a rebel against everyone else and lied about the story of his brother which he made up. Cassian probably killed him because he knew if he went with him, at his early opportunity he would kill Cassian.

I've also heard it suggested elsewhere that *Skeen* my have been testing *Cassian.* And they may have tried to plant that seed, but I don't buy it.¹ _Not at that stage._ There's really no point IMO. Not the way things were set up. The job is done. Also, they were all likely about to go their separate ways. There's no point in testing him if they're not likely to see each again/continue working together. 🤷🏼‍♂️ That's my take anyhow. Sadly, I feel *Nemik's* death was somewhat telegraphed. Not only did I expct him to die, virtually every reactor I've seen expected it. I would liked to have seen much more of him. I liked the actor and his delivery of the character. IMO he would've made a great counter balance to *Cassian* for a while longer. *Edit:* I still feel it has occasional pacing issues. But I prefer it head and shoulders above _Obi Wan-Kenobi_ and _Book of Boba Fett._ ··•●✺●•·· ¹ ─ The reality of it, I mean.

Oh yeah, we sorta say that in later discussions, how, the only reason he likely advocated to get a doctor was to be able to make the steal. But I LOVE the idea of ambiguity and it’s a more interesting scene for it, even though ultimately I think you’re right.

As you say, the job is done: the value of including of this mercenary stranger named ‘Clem’ has now diminished against the likely threat he poses now that they have the score… and if they’re about to go their separate ways, who’s to say Clem won’t sell information about the operation to the highest bidder, or forfeit the details under Imp ‘enhanced interrogation’?

I've definitely turned a corner on the pacing of this show. I didn't mind the slowness, but I wasn't a fan the structure and how episodes sort of just ended, but I've come around on it with benefit of hindsight and know what to expect. Definitely agree, Sean, that this series maybe isn't the finest Star Wars show, but it is really the best written.

It really is a totally different Star Wars experience. They've just been piling up tension with very little release for the entire season. Episode 9 was the most stressed I've ever been while watching a TV show and I loved it.

I mean they’ve done gay kissy action in Star Wars before, but it wasn’t really a substantive feature of queer folk just being… I much prefer Vel and Cinta because they’re believably juggling much more than just showing up to kiss: there characterization feels like ‘Bill’s from “Last of Us” 👍👍

Yo I think that Andor is a good show, not perfect or exceptionnal like GOT, Casa de papel, prison break... But its really a good show that doesnt disappoint me yet. They also try thei best to respect the SW fan's base.
